With the announcement that Michael Vick has agreed to a guilty plea in the dogfighting case brought against him by federal prosecutors, even those who justifiably stood by the innocent-until-proven-guilty doctrine can now accept that the Atlanta quarterback was likely involved in some heinous acts.
What's your reaction to the latest news and Vick's statement that he "wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter?" Do you think he'll ever play in the NFL again?

Dump him!!!! I don't want to pay to see a felon performing on the field.

An apology won't cut it....he deserves to be put in prison and to be banned from playing in the NFL. This is not the first incident showing his true colors.

One one hand, its not as serious as other crimes...as in crimes against people. However, Vick tends to be one of those players that will perpetually been in trouble. Dont let him back in the NFL.

I DO NOT GIVE A DAMN about dogs over Vick. You will see that game time when you see empty seats. Thats is my opinion and I am sticking to it. I do not give a ****. He will still play even after serving time. Sorry that disappoints you. I believe people make mistakes as I am sure you dumb **** have. I don't give a damn and there is nothing you can say.

If Vick returns to the field, the NFL stands for National Felons League. Vick and anyone associated with torturing animals should be put in prison for a very long time.

What goes around, comes around. What makes me believe he is apologizing sincerely? Go cry up someone else's tree. You had your chance to be a man and face up to your mistakes. Rot in jail Vick and never come back to the NFL.

Anyone with a dog out there, please don't tell me I am the only one who was physically sickened by reading the indictment.
He should get and DO at least 18months and then the NFL should match it with a ban of at least 18months following the prison term. Hopefully he meets some dog lovers in his time as a guest of the state.

To the Vick supporter:
Your comment says it all...you dogfighter. You can almost smell the blood in your message. You are probably fit to play in the NFL as sufficiently morally depraved will make you a star.

This isn't about whether one likes dogs or not...It's about how this type of crime usually accompanies or precedes more serious crimes. Anyone who will do that to a defenseless animal (Yes, even a pit bull can be rendered defenseless), well, gee, imagine what he'll do to other people. There's been little mention of the fact that he was sued for knowingly giving a woman ****, imagine what else is in his closet.
It's bad enough that these high profile athletes get a free pass in life beginning at an early age. Perhaps if society had held him and his brother to account for past run-ins with the law, this whole fiasco could have been avoided and he could have maintained his career by learning the consequences of his actions earlier in life.
Too bad about Mr. Vick, but none of this is very surprising given how athletes like him are usually coddled and told that they can do no wrong so long as they put out on the field.

I was one of the "wait until the justice system works out the details" people. But now that he's admitted to the accusations, I want him out. As a season ticket holder, the Falcons can't cut him soon enough for my taste. And I don't care how much he apologizes, or how much remorse he demonstrates. He's an unscrupulous liar, an unusually cruel person, and an idiot to boot.
He'll do some jail time, then attempt to get back into the league. I doubt anyone will consider it, although you never know what the Raiders will do. If the NFL lets him back in they won't be seeing any more of my money.

I, for one, will go OUT OF MY WAY to boycott any team with Michael Vick on it's roster. That goes for the Falcons, or anyone else who should decide to try him out in the future. I'm just one guy, but I'm one of the FANS shelling out my hard earned money in various ways to the NFL so...are you listening, Mr. Blank?

Uh, why exactly does he feel he needs to apologize for hurting 'us'. I still have my job and fortunately 'abusing animals' won't be listed as a reason for me going to hell.

Wow...
hummerhottie. That was an extravagantly articulated point. I'll be sure to use the "I DON'T GIVE A DAMN" argument whenever in dialogue. Very effective.

Had he pled guilty before all this circus, he'd have a much better chance at playing in the NFL again. The gambling associations are the most damning to his career. After lying directly to the commishioner's face and then to the public about 'clearing his good name', he's lost even more of his now scant credibility. I'd count on a 2 year ban to start AFTER his prison term.
How can we ever trust his words? If he wants to play again and not be booed mericlessly over 'Who let the dogs out', he'll need to donate every dime of his salary to the ASPCA, gambler's annon, and everyone but himself and low-life friends.
I doubt even the CFL or Arena leauge would welcome him openly right after he gets out.

Vick Supporter: If you display ignorance so readily in real life, it's truly a wonder you've lived as long as you have.
Vick deserves a lifetime ban from the league. Will he get it? Probably not. But, his career's over and that's good enough for me.

Well so much for clearing his good name!!
Its not just dogs, dogfighting or killing animals its gambling, and LIES!!! Vick threw his career away the minute he started funding this, dogfighting isn't the real issue, its just one that sticks out the most, How many over 30 year old QB's in the NFL?
Vick is gone, toast! Enjoy working at McDonalds Mike!!!! :-)

that was probably the single most retarded thing I've ever read.
I'm sure you're uneducated, underpaid, overworked and can't even AFFORD to go to an NFL game unless someone gives you an SSI ticket. And I'm also willing to bet my left boob that you're either a sloppy, repressed black woman who takes care of worthless black men with a house full of **** kids or a sloppy, trashy white woman that has nothing better to do than hunt black men in hopes for having **** oreo babies.

to the vick supporter. I am a supporter too. I don't give a damn! Everyone makes mistakes and Im sure we ALL have. After he does his time and years go by we will be involved in other discussions and Vick will not be one of them. This is not worse than the NFL player who killed a mother of two while driving drunk. He was given an $18million dollar extension in September! Did anyone have a discussion about that? if so can you any of us remember? so why is this story so hot? Can we move on to something else, like getting our troops out of Iraq.

Once again this case had nothing to do with race-it has everything to do with convicting the right person, period.
