SI.com's Allan Muir writes that the struggling Minnesota Wild are in dire need of an offensive boost if they are to make the playoffs and amount to more than a one-and-done. With their best piece of trade bait, Marian Gaborik, out for 10 weeks after hip surgery and likely to leave via free agency, GM Doug Risebrough should do the counterintuitive thing and trade All-Star netminder Niklas Backstrom. The Wild would be able to turn to more-than-capable backup Josh Harding while securing a package from talent, quite possibly from two contenders that need an upgrade in net: Detroit and Washington.

What do you think? Should the Wild deal Backstrom? If you were the GM of your favorite team, what would you give up to get him?

Yes! Detroit would be a great spot for nasty Nik!
