A few morsels to savor as more than half the country approaches its actual lunch hour:

• The Cowboys are considering using DB Pacman Jones as a wide receiver as well. Sounds like a terrible idea, frankly. Haven't we seen the mayhem he causes when you ask him to "go out"?

• In other Cowboys news, Terrell Owens says he's not at all concerned that his contract is expiring after this season. You know, I think he's finally found some perspective. In fact, T.O. says he's content to let the Cowboys pick how many reasons he has to live in 2009.

• A convicted steroids dealer has reportedly given NFL security officials the names of players who bought drugs from him. Don't worry, though; Roger Goodell quickly destroyed the evidence.

• It seems the Dolphins have all but cut ties with defensive end Jason Taylor, who just finished second on Dancing With The Stars. That's strange, I would have thought he'd fit right in. Didn't the Dolphins finish second 15 times last year?

Spike Lee is set to direct a documentary on Michael Jordan. That should be exciting. I can't wait until MJ pushes Bryon Russell out of the premiere.

• Country singer Mindy McCready will reportedly dish about former paramour Roger Clemens in her own upcoming documentary. For one thing, she says she's certain she was of age before they became intimate because she had already stopped referring to their time together as "sleepovers."

• Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told Dan Patrick he can't be too harsh on Josh Howard because he's smoked pot as well. Finally, an explanation for The Benefactor.

Hey, just announced, the 2012 Super Bowl will be in Indy.

I'm making my hotel reservations as we speak!

Off subject, but I found this in Mandell's mail bag:

"Nothing would give me more joy than to be able to tie in the Crush to Gossip Girl, the newfound obsession of nearly my entire office."

Is this true? From what little I know, this show is essentially "the Hills" for New Yorkers. Now, why would an office full of adult men (at least, judging by the masthead) be obssessed with a trashy pseudo-reality show about teenagers?

I disagree. I think "Come Together" is an attempt at surrealist poetry.

I think that you're on the right track. Surrealist works feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur. I think "Come Together" (and other late-era Beatles songs such as "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," "Yellow Submarine," and "Glass Onion") fits that description.

Pete, are you obsessed with Gossip Girl? What happened to Ashlee?

Country singer Mindy McCready will reportedly dish about former paramour Roger Clemens in her own upcoming documentary.

Apparently, they were just like any other couple: quiet evenings on the phone, Roger listening to her talk through his third ear...

May 22, 2008  01:30 PM ET

next, we'll find out Clemens was a switch hitter.

not that there's anything wrong with that.

Or maybe The Beatles and Dali were just stoned when they created their art.

Stew overstates it a little, perhaps, but he and a few others are indeed into Gossip Girl. I am not among them. I'm not against it, it's just not something I watch.
