J.P. Giglio, Raleigh News & Observer: How good is North Carolina? The Tar Heels are Peach Bowl good, but not Bowl Championship Series good.

Jeremy Fowler, Orlando Sentinel: The trash-talking has started.
Louisiana State defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois equated his teammates getting a clean shot on a quarterback like Florida's Tim Tebow to a "car wreck without a seat belt."

Mike Hutton, Gary Post-Tribune: Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen said Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh wouldn't shake his hand after Saturday's game. Harbaugh says he never saw Clausen because he was busy trying to separate players during a postgame melee between the teams.

John Hunt, Oregonian: Oregon quarterback Jeremiah MasoliB, after his team lost to USC by 34 points: "We feel like we're the better team. Tonight they played better than us, and the score indicated that. But I still feel like we're the better team, we just gave that one away. We just made some mistakes that we usually don't. I feel like our football team is better all-around, but they played better tonight, so they got the 'W'."

Brandon Prunty, Newark Star-Ledger: Rutgers coach Greg Schiano on his 1-4 team: "Probably, maybe I overestimated [the talent level] a little bit. Probably we haven't played at some veteran positions as well as we're capable of. And probably we haven't coached as well as we've needed to. So when you add those three things up -- maybe one area on one day and one area on another play -- the result is where we are."

Chris Dufresne, Los Angeles Times: USC's loss to Oregon State is now a distant memory and the Trojans appear to be in position to go undefeated through the rest of the regular season.

Percy Allen, Seattle Times: Washington State coach Paul Wulff said he received as many as 50 inquiries from students answering his call to try out for scout team quarterback. "I've gotten some unbelievable emails," he said.

Ian R. Rapoport, Birmingham News: Nick Saban and Phil Fulmer teaming up? The coaches will wear armbands during the Alabama-Tennessee game on Oct. 25 in Knoxville in support of the American Football Coaches Association's newest charitable project -- Coach to Cure Muscular Dystrophy.

Always good to see someone (else) call it the Peach Bowl (instead of the "Chick-fil-A" Bowl).

Ohio State should always be #1. Everyone else should play for second in the BRS, the bowl runner-up series.

I also call it the Peach Bowl. I don't recognize sponsors unless they keep the actual bowl name. ie. USF&G Sugar Bowl, Sunkist Fiesta Bowl, Poulan WeedEater something bowl (that one is a joke), FedEx Orange Bowl, you'd think it would be the Sunkist Orange Bowl, no?

Chick Fil-A Peach Bowl is fine. Chick-Fil-A Bowl is dumb. Can you imagine if we start taking away the bowl names? Citi Bowl in Pasadena, Tostitos Bowl in Arizona...

AH!
