Rutgers (7-5) vs. N.C. State (6-6)
Dec. 29, 3 p.m. ET, ESPN
Reason To Watch: To see two of the nation's hottest teams (Rutgers has won six straight, N.C. State four straight), both of which were young this year and could be a factor in their respective conferences next season. If nothing else, Rutgers WR Kenny Britt (113.8 yards per game, No. 2 nationally) is good for at least two to three long bombs.
Keep An Eye On: N.C. State quarterback Russell Wilson. Never heard of him? Don't worry. Few fans outside the ACC have. But the redshirt freshman was recently named the All-ACC first-team quarterback after throwing for 16 touchdowns against just one interception. He also makes several plays per game with his feet (342 net rushing yards).
Did You Know?: Last year's PapaJohns.com Bowl between Cincinnati and Southern Miss drew the second-highest bowl audience (2.2 million households) in ESPN2 history. This year's game gets the benefit of being on the mother channel and (theoretically) drawing the New York TV market. On the flip side: It's at 3 p.m. EST on a Monday.
Final Analysis: Led by senior QB Mike Teel, Rutgers' passing game has been teeing off on their overmatched Big East foes (culminating in a 63-14 rout of Louisville), but now the Scarlet Knights are running into a rapidly improving N.C. State defense that's been tested by tougher opposition for much of the season.
The Pick: N.C. State 24, Rutgers 20
