<body>There's no such thing as a &amp;quot;best&amp;quot; team. There's no way to determine a &amp;quot;best&amp;quot; team at any given point in time, and if there were, then it will have changed by the next day--neither team nor individual performance is constant. The best method for /trying/ to determine the best team would involve double-elimination home-and-away play for every team in every conference and following the regular season up with the same in a series of playoffs... so, basically, the college football season would run for 50 out of 52 weeks per year. I mean, players are *supposed* to be in college for the degree... right? (Sure.)

The only thing that's certain is that the team with the most points on the scoreboard at the end of the game wins. Winning doesn't mean you're better; it just means you won. Next time, who know?</body>

<body>Pete Carroll whines whenever he (and USC) doesn't win ... yes, there are other 1-loss teams, but they were not selected to play in the BCS national title game (Oklahoma and Florida was) ... we can all sit here and analyze who should be number one, who can beat who, blah, blah, blah .... all opinons ... based on the process NCAA Football (or the FBS) has, Florida is number one in the BCS, AP, ESPN/USA Today Coaches and the Harris polls (and others, but they don't really matter) ... at the end on the day, that is what we do know to be true ... hence that equates to Florida being the 2008 National Champions (which what we also know to be true) ... If the 100 plus colleges in the NCAA/FBS does not like the current system then they should change it ... they voted on the BCS, and now when it doesn't suit their teams, they complain ... honestly, I totslly dislike the BCS system and would much prefer a playoff ... but some of the negatives I have heard about a playoff is students are studying for midterms (which they shoulod be all year long), it will make the season too long (what about NCAA Basketball, Baseball, Volleybal, etc.), it will take away fromt the traditional bowls (well, the BCS system has pretty much done that) ... as for Pete Carroll's statement about Florida getting more votes, hey idiot, that what polls are about and that;s how one gets to the top of polls, by receiving the most votes (duh) ... New England was 18-1 last year, after they lost the Superbowl to the NY Giants ... the Patriots had the best record, but they lost the Superbowl ... were they still the best team, or was NY better than them on that night ... oh, to use Pete Carroll's analogy, Ny scored more points, that is why they won ... see how asinine that thought process is Mr. Carroll ... Curt T, not rying to be argumentative, jsut stating a fact, there are plenty of people who knows Florida is number 1 (see my list of polls above), and guess what, numerous Gator fans and I know they're number 1 ... so hey, we can all jabber back and forth, it WILL NOT change the fact the Gators are the 2008 National Champs ... way to go Gators!!!!</body>
