2 Many people are assuming that there will be three or four undefeated teams at the end of the year; if so we (menaing USC) will be in a tough situation if those teams are from the SEC and the other is Oklahoma or Mizzou. But, it there are only teo undefeated teams, and USC is one of them they play for the championship. And if USC blows out the SEC/Big 12 champion, everyone will need to shut the H&ll up. 2909958

But a dark cloud's looming on the edge of their joyous, sunny existence.</p> <p>Since Monday, the blogsphere's been <a href="http://bleacherreport.com/articles/60514-news-report-usc-trojans-will-not-qualify-for-bcs-title-game-due-to-schedule" target="_blank"><span style="color: #810081;">abuzz</span></a> with rumors of a "report" stating that regardless of its record at season's end, USC (currently No. 1 in the land) won't make it to the national title game because the Pac-10 is too weak. The <a href="http://www.latimes.com/sports/college/usc/la-sp-dufresne22-2008sep22,0,5492484.column" target="_blank"><span style="color: #810081;">L.A. Times </span></a>ran a piece yesterday urging fans not to "dial the BCS crisis hotline yet," but also acknowledged the top teams emerging from the Big 12 and SEC could spell Bowl-trouble for the Trojans.</p> <p>We at SIOC have nothing invested in seeing the Trojans in the title game yet again. In fact, we'd like to see something new, like Georgia vs. Missouri. But the on-field product, not pollsters and formulas, should decide the title matchup. At the end of the day, we wouldn't even be having this discussion if a playoff formula existed. UCLA's doormat status wouldn't affect USC's postseason prospects anymore than the Trojans' <a href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/sioncampus/08/15/pete-carroll-is-a-real-jocker-campus-clicks/index.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #0000ff;">former jock itch epidemic.</span></a>  And while the BCS vs. Playoff argument never quite disappears, we can't remember another season when it's been an issue this early. It's only week four, folks.
