Georgia-blackout-vent
Georgia fans at September 27th's Blackout.

It was a weekend of extremes. Drama cried on The View, our nation plummeted further into economic decay and Georgia and Penn State both gave color and variety the middle finger.

Yes, it was Blackout and White Out night at those respective schools, where for this one weekend monochrome was king. Flipping between both games on TV, we couldn’t help but be more impressed by Penn State’s milky sea of euphoria than by Georgia’s smoky imitation. From overhead, Penn State’s stadium rippled and ruffled with life as fans, decked out in white gym gear, body paint and fluffy wigs, shook their pom-poms with pride. As the blimp flew over Georgia’s stadium, however, the first impression was of empty seats, as the blackness caved in on itself.

But then we came into the office Monday, and put together a gallery of the best fan shots from both nights. And we have to say, up-close, the Georgia shots are more impressive (both than Georgia’s television shots and than Penn State’s still shots). So now we’re torn, and we need your help deciding: Which was more impressive, Blackout or White Out? Check out the gallery to decide, then post your opinion in the comments.

While UGA may have the hottest girls in the country and their black did look intense, they didn't compare to the in sync White Out that Penn State had...not to mention UGA got embarrassed, which isn't supposed to happen for such an important game that you invoke special traditions to help ensure victory (even if it is a new tradition for UGA).

Visually, I like PSU's better due to 1)the larger amount of people 2)Georgia's was filled with too much red and other colors.
PS... I really hope those teeth in Picture 9 were fake

white out definitly. But really you're pictures wern't the best for either side. The best part of the whiteout is that EVERYONE in the stadium wore white. It is for our unity that makes the whiteout so clutch. It also doesn't hurt that white is a more stunning color than black, and also matches the skin complexion of most in attendence.

Whiteout definitely.

1. more visually stunning (brighter)
2. all one color. Everyone in the stadium wore white, and just white.
3. faces tend to stick out during blackouts

Really though, your photos were not the best. Its tough to get a good feel for just how amazing the whiteout was with your photos (except for that one group shot). What makes the whiteout so special is that the entire stadium wears white. Penn State's students are famous as a group, not as individuals.

The black out/white out effect is designed for viewing from a distance.

That gives the nod to white out.

Why am I commenting on this? Don't I have other stuff to do?

Ah - that's right - I have other stuff I am so desperate to avoid I am commenting on the merits of white out vs. black out...

I am going to go with the blackout. The whiteout seems too proper to me. The blackout just looks mean and nasty.

Black out > The white

The white out looks too clean and proper. Football is mean and nasty and is intimidating. No matter what they say Bama had to have been a little taken back.

Also these girls look like they are straight out of the black hole. Rock on.

Seriously why are you even writing this story? Did you see the stadiums on TV? If you did it is not even close... From the player perspective what is more distracting GLARING white or the dark of black? There is a reason Beaver Stadium is call the the Greatest Show in College football. Check out the Youtube videos if you don't believe me.

Penn State football and white out....there's no substitute!

WHITE OUT by far, being there in the student section with the atmosphere and intensity of the crowd it was amazing, but seriously just seeing what I saw the WHITE OUT was better.....wearing all black you can easily see all the white faces and arms and you could even see the other colors stick out more than in the white out

just way too many red pom-poms and white faces, the WHITE HOUSE easily won.....oh yah and we won our game convincingly, i believe georgia was down by 31 points at one time
