Thus far, this game hasn't been as close as the score indicates.

Akinori Iwamura tries to even things up by grounding out on the first pitch from Jung Keun Bong. Yasuyuki Kataoka then flies to left on the second pitch he sees. Bong's at 77 pitches and this is exactly what he needs from Japan, quick outs.

Hisashi Iwakuma doesn't really need the rest, but the normally hacky Ichiro Suzuki takes the first four pitches from Bong anyway and gets ahead 3-1. He then grounds out to second.

That was Bong's first 1-2-3 inning of the game and cost him just eight pitches.
