Breaking News: Tuesday, July 22
Ortiz went hitless Tuesday night in another rehab appearance with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs.
It was Ortiz's fifth minor league game since he was sidelined May 30 because of a partial tear of the sheath that surrounds the tendon in his left wrist. "I feel good. I feel better everyday," Ortiz said before the game. The slugger is scheduled to make his third and final appearance for Portland on Wednesday. He is expected to return to the Red Sox on Friday for the beginning of a nine-game home series with New York, Los Angeles and Oakland.
Breaking News: Saturday, July 19
Ortiz homered for the third straight game during a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday night.
Ortiz is scheduled to play his last rehab game with Pawtucket on Sunday afternoon and then join Double-A Portland on Monday for three more games. The Boston Red Sox slugger has been sidelined since May 30 because of a partially torn tendon sheath in his wrist. He is expected to return to the Red Sox for the home series with the Yankees on July 25.
