Drafted in 1998 - (Pick 10 : Round 1)
Out of Kansas
Born October 13, 1977
Pierce rebounded from a woeful 2-for-14, four-point performance in Game 1 by delivering a team-high 19 points in Game 2 on Thursday as Boston rolled over Cleveland in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series, winning 89-73.
Pierce is averaging 16.6 points in nine playoff games so far, and made it clear on Thursday that he can still be effective offensively even while sharing duties on Cleveland's LeBron James on the defensive end.
Pierce was held to four points and 2-for-14 shooting while committing six turnovers as the Celtics took an ugly 76-72 victory over the Cavaliers on Tuesday night in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series.
Pierce averaged 18.0 points, 2.3 turnovers and shot 44.8 percent from the field in his first seven games this postseason. However, he shot just 37.3 percent in four regular-season meetings with the Cavaliers.
