LSU is the only 2 loss "National Champion." They don't deserve the title. Neither does USC or Georgia even though they'd probably beat LSU.

Wat do u mean they dont deserve it? They won the big game. It doesnt matter how many wins or losses its who ever wins the big game which they did.

that's like saying if they put a team in the "national championship" game and they win it, they should be national champs. Sorry pal your argument is weaker than the Big 10.

The teams are not just put in there. Experts look at strength of schedule, their records and then determine who plays. Its not like they just flip a coin.

With LSU and OSU, it sure seems the teams were "just put in there." Neither their strength of schedule or record makes either of them any better than USC or Georgia

my bad. what I meant was if they put a 6-5 team in the "national championship" game and win it they should be national champs.

The system is what it is. Live with it.

Wasn't too long ago the Steelers were the lowest ranked playoff team, yet won the Super Bowl...did they not "deserve it", either?

What I'm saying is, a playoff system doesn't determine who the "best" team is, either.

If the Patriots don't win the Superbowl does that mean they weren't the "best" team this year? Of course not. If they were to lose to the Jags this week they'd STILL have 2 fewer losses than any other team. All a playoff does is let more teams get involved in a single elimination tournament. It doesn't necessarily reflect who among them is "best"

National Champions!

soooo the championship should've been hawaii vs. kansas... yeah that would;ve been awesome.

LSU had 2 losses in the toughest conference in NCAAFB. that's an accomplishment. if you're just some bitter OSU fan, leam to deal with the FACT that the SEC is a superior conference. better luck next year.

January 8, 2008  01:19 AM ET

Really what i think the BCS bowl should turn into the BS bowl beacuse who ever heard of a team going to a national title to have 2 losses. alec i would have voted for you but im a big BIG ten supporter.

January 8, 2008  04:32 AM ET

2007 was an anomoly.
I wouldn't expet all 6 majors to finish the pre-bowl season with less than 2 conference champions with perfect or 1 loss records too often.
PAC10 - barring injury Oregon, barring injury or if scheduled Oregon later in season USC
Big East - WVU lost to USF by 8, Pitt by 4
ACC - BC needed a miracle 2 TDs in the last 2 minutes to keep VT from 1 loss
SEC - eveeryone knows how close LSU came to 1 loss
Big12 - Oklahoma by 3 to Colorado, 1 TD to Texas Tech

NCAAF might be the hardest title to achieve.
Loose a game, loose control of your destiny. In most years, loose 2 and loose your shot at the title. Schedule weak and risk loosing your shot at the title. Don't win your conference, don't expect a shot

its lose. prove it. not loose.

Will all you USC and Georgia Fans just shut up neither one of them could beat WVU or Oklahoma

January 8, 2008  09:11 AM ET

seanwhitt, are you joking??? I hope you are.....USC or UGA would KILL WVU with a smile on there face. Oklahoma might have a chance but not WVU......

January 8, 2008  09:31 AM ET

wvu dominated oklahoma so i think its them who would have the better chance.

Theback21 and the 85 dolphins beat the 85 bears does that mean it would happen again or 3 times. Hats off to Pat White and WV played great but OU was still a better team they just didn't show up so WV deserved to win
