Peachy wants 300 wins! said 01/08, 04:40 PM
Well, lets see, I think 4 or at top 5. Some people don't think Kobe can reach the promise land without shaq type help but i think he has some players that have great promise in the laker organazation right now. Bynum and Jordan Farmar will only get better. As long as Kobe doesn't demand a trade every summer and actually plays for the lakers for his career like he says when he is content, i don't see why my prediction would be that far off. They are having a pretty good season with Kwame being out and the Ariza trade was actually a decent one. Cook added too many big men to the acquation. Magic had 5 rings and of course Jordan had six and i see Kobe's career to be close to as good as there's. Kobe can't match Jordan of course unless Phil brings in another good player that clicks with the team and takes them to new heights. I think for the Lakers to reach that other level they are need of a POINT GUARD. The likes of Jason Kidd or Mike Bibby would put them as Western Conference challengers EVERY year. I don't hink bynum needs to be traded to do this. They need a veteran point guard that can create or score. Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar are very DECENT nba players but theyneed JK or

I think Kobe Bryant has been the best player in the NBA since Jordan. He was great with Shaq. I think is great, even without Shaq. Has has a good supporting cast, a young supporting cast that has the potential to take them deep into the playoffs. BUT, he will not win another championship if he remains with the Lakers. They will not get enough talent to win a championship. You have to look at the other teams around the league that they would have to beat out, not just the Lakers as a whole. They're in the tougher of the 2 conferences. They'd have to beat out teams like the Spurs, the Suns, the Mavericks (if they finally don't choke in the playoffs), the Jazz. And also, the teams which i think have an equal chance to bet them, the Warriors, the Rockets and the Blazers. And then if they get to the Championship they would have to face a team like the Celtics, or the Pistons or the Magic.

With all you said Jason Kidd would make it happen. Bynum is going to be a force in the league for years to come. Odom is a complementary player like Pippen but not nearly as good. We all know that. Odom is good though. Kobe is only 30 years old and like you said the best player since Jordan. Kobe is the best offensive player in the league and i don't see that changing for a long while. Believe it or not but over the years the Spurs and Tim Duncan will get a little older and vunerable. The whole west might except for phoenix but they have beaten them twice this year an have played them good in the playoffs with their sub par teams excluding Kobe. Kobe wasn't riding shaq like a wave in all three titles. Shaq rode his back too! Kobe needs one more superstar or above average talent teamate to make the Lakers a western powerhouse. Kobe can go off and take the whole team on his back. Back to what i was talking about, Jason Kidd without trading Bynum would be wonderful and would set up the West with Nash vs the Veteran Kidd with the best scorer in the league. Kobe just NEEDs one more player. Buss is not as bad as publicized. The Lakers can pull one out in a couple of years or less with t

Kidd's not going anywhere. If he was, it's not Los Angeles if anything. And if Kidd were to be traded to the Lakers, he'd be really at the end of his career and way beyond his prime. And even when the Spurs get old, there will be even more teams with young talented players that the Lakers will still have to compete against. Mainly the Blazers if they keep up what they're doing. Kidd, in my opinion, probably doesn't even wanna go to the west. I think he wants to stay in the East, maybe to the Cavs, maybe somewhere where there's a young team where he can teach them how to become great players.

Surprisingly Ballers gets a rare vote from me
Kobe and the Lakers are looking good......In 2 years when Bynum is a 18-20ppg, 12-13rpg, 2-3bpg type a player and Kobe is still just 31 and putting up 28ppg, 6apg, and 6rpg, they could win a few more titles

If they go out and trade Odom, Rad and Crittenton to NJ for Kidd
They could compete this year

haha alright. sorry though until Kobe wins an MVP or carries his team (not Shaqs) to a championship, the jordan kobe comparisions just dont have any merit in my book. sure kobe has some of MJs aspects, but Jordan blows kobe outa hte water at basically everything related to bball.

do we always have to compare players to jordan, cant kobe be kobe, and jordan be jordan. Kobe is a great player, but he needs more pieces to win, he cant do it on his own, jordan had pippen and others that helped. Kobe has Kwame Brown. Ha, the Lakers need another piece, but gotta vote to the right because i think Farmar is great, fisher is a great teacher, look at what he did for D Will in Utah.

I hate when people compare people compare players to MJ. That's why I didn't. I said Best SINCE MJ, not the NEXT MJ.

You can knock Kobe all u want but u cant question his competetiveness or desire to win; he wants the ball in clutch situations and is just like Jordan in that aspect unlike LeBron who shies away from that (with the 1 excfeption of Pistons series last year)......Kobe is a baller just like Jordan and even proved it head to head

Kobe is a punk and a crybaby. I hope he never wins another title. I hope he gets traded to the Grizzlies and rots. I know that won't happen but it's nice to dream.

Many people act like Mike did it all by himself. He had Scottie Pippen on his team people! And anyone can argue that MJ has better offensive stats than Kobe but remember that the NBA is way more physical in these days, therefore making it tougher to play in.
And nobody is the next MJ! Nobody is the next Kobe! Nobody is the next nobody! Let players be themselves and dont compare ones who are retired with active players!

Kobe will get another one with the Lakes and without Kidd. The Lakes improved during the off season and have shown great strides so far this season.
