The Redskins should promote greg Williams to head coach

Joe Gibbs has retired again this time for real im sure. There have been speculation that they are interested in Billick and Cowher but I feel they should stay within the clubhouse and move greg Williams right up the ranks. He is the best guy for this job. They players want him,hes been there 4 years and he knows what it takes to compete in the NFC east.

No way. The Redskins can't make any rash decisions right now. Not saying that maybe Williams isn't the guy for the job, but I think they should take their time and pick someone at the appropriate time. It's kind of what West Virginia did, hire an assistant/interim right away, just because he won the BCS bowl. But really there's no reason why the shouldn't search the market, and take their time with a decision.

I never said they should make this decision tonight. The thing you have to look at is that this guy has been in Washington with this group of players for 4 years. They had a decent year this year, not the best but much better than last year obviously.I think it would be best to keep this guy and move him up and try to normalize things has much as possible. The players have spoken and want him to be the guy.Thats saying alot. Its saying that they will fight for this guy. This group can get better but I think they would be taking a step back if they bring in someone totally new.

I know. I'm saying that maybe they should examine the market closely, rather than just look into the organization. And really the Redskins caught a couple of breaks to be as good as they were this year, actually just a late season spirit surge. Keeping things normal might not give them the best chance to get to the next level, and if looking into the market helps give them that dimension then thats what they should do.

I think they need to keep things as normal as possible as far as the coaching aspect goes. What will repell them to the next level is to get some players in some key spots.Something else to think about is you have a young QB who was starting to get it towards the middle of the season.I think a new face would throw him back a little in a developmental role. You look at Rivers this year under Turner. He was a completely different player this year compared to his last season under Shotty.Greg Williams knows how to prepare for all of the East teams. He has that advantage already as well as the respect of every player in that locker room.

I still think that if this guy had potential, especially in the NFC East, the Cowboys would have been interested after Bill Parcells left, and many other coaching spots that were vacant would have looked into him. But maybe all they see is an assistant. Not every assistant has success as a HC mind you. Good assistants are lured away believe me, if he was that good, he would have at least been mentioned somewhere in some job chase. Good Throwdown though and good luck!

i say they do billick
