Though I wouldn't call it going out on a limb selecting a 13-3 team to make it to the Superbowl, the Packers would still be 'dogs if they had to meet the Cowboys in Texas Stadium. Favre has appeared driven and motivated throughout the season, while Romo has had multiple slipups. I believe the Green Bay Packers will represent the NFC in Arizona. State your case.

Give me the Cowboys over the Packers.

I remember that just a couple weeks ago, we saw the Cowboys go against the Packers. Remember who came out on top? Yes, Favre got injured in the game, but before coming out, had looked pretty bad. The Cowboys confused Favre and forced him into multiple bad throws.

If the Packers and Cowboys do face off against each other again, it'll be in Texas Stadium. Homefield advantage is pretty important in the playoffs.

Let's remember the Cowboys have an easier road to the NFC championship game too. They've already beaten the Giants twice this year. Eli Manning is prone to make big mistakes at the worst possible times. I think it's pretty unlikely we see the Giants beat the Cowboys.

The Seahawks aren't a great team by any means, but they're a lot tougher to beat than the Giants. Seattle's got a playoff tested quarterback, and a lot of good receivers for him to throw the ball too. Seattle's got several standouts on defense in Patrick Kerney, Lofa Tatupu, and Marcus Trufant. They'll be tough to beat.

The Cowboys have an easier road to the championship game, and have already beaten the Pack. I'll take them.

Forfeited Turn

Well, now we know for sure that TO will be playing. Many of the Cowboys' problems have stemmed from not having TO on offense. With him there a devastating force. Romo lit up Green Bay last time these two teams played and he'll do it again.

I would put more in this argument, but I have less than 5 minutes left to make one!

Forfeited Turn

Congrats to the Packers for winning.

Again, like I said before though, the Packers already went to Texas Stadium and lost. What makes you think they won't next time?

From this point on in the playoffs, you can pretty much take it to the bank that all road teams will be the underdogs. Packers have a good chance, so does Dallas.

I'm a huge packer fan but they have to beat the cowboys to prove to me that they can do it this year. I do think they can do it with a healthier team than the last meeting but they need to step up.

How about we wait til after this weekend to find out which 2 teams from each conference are facing each other?

January 9, 2008  05:00 PM ET

both teams had injuries last time they faced each other...should be a good matchup if they meet in the NFC Champiosnhip game...which I'll miss cause I'll be playing war games for 10 days....Ugh....

Romo slip up? Last time I remember, Favre got swept by the Bears including in a game where they needed to win to have home field adv. ANother slip - up . . . . Fave 0 and lifetime at Texas Stadium

January 9, 2008  06:04 PM ET

Little problem is Dallas hasnt looked good at all last 3-4 weeks of reg season

January 9, 2008  06:05 PM ET

Silent G.......Gotta bring a better argument than that

Vote pending

"sooner31" "favre got swept by the Bears" yeah, favre lost those games...had nothing to do with james jones fumbling two catches when the packers were in scoring position and winning considerably or the kicker getting 2 blocked punts, one for a score, fumbling another, and kicking another a whole 8 yards in the second meeting. nevermind the 50 mile an hour winds in Chicago. you're right..favre lost those games.

January 9, 2008  10:18 PM ET

agreed with Favre-ulous
Favre wont slip up in the playoffs, like romo. Remember last year when he couldnt even hold the ball for the field goal

January 10, 2008  02:33 AM ET

bigeleven so your argument is Romo will drop a snap? He doesn't do that anymore and his play at QB in playoffs was excellent. He was the one who drove down to take the lead. Fluke drop is irrelevant. Farve going 0-9 at Texas Stadium in his career as a starter is not.

Silent G, I didn't know a name could be so APT!!! Your silence speaks more volumes than any "argument" you might've put forth...

Basketball Jesus, boy do I hope that you are wrong for the sake of reality, but for the sake of TD purposes you actually brought it -- as opposed to your "opponent" -- and thus you have my vote...

"Favre has appeared driven and motivated throughout the season, while Romo has had multiple slipups."

Perhaps you forgot Favre's slip-up in which he threw 2 interceptions in 20 minutes before being knocked out of the game. Who was that against? Oh right... THE COWBOYS.

He DID lose the games. He may not have caused the team to lose single handedly, but he was the starting QB and he lost both times.

GB PACKERS..................>

Favre and Romo are nearly even in terms of stats, so you have to look elsewhere to decide who'd be the winner. Both Marion Barber and Ryan Grant are excellant RB's, so another probable tie. Now, let's look at receivers: Dallas has TO and Jason Whitten, two of the most dominant players at their positions. GB has a good vet in Donald Driver, and a bunch of young guys who can get it done, but Dallas has the experience and skill advantage over all. In terms of defense, GB has a great secondary with Woodson, Harris, and Bigby, but Dallas' front 7 are probably more talented overall than GB's (although AJ Hawk and KGB are both very good). Finally, the game (if it happens) would be at Texas stadium, where Farve has very little, if any, success.

Overall advantage: Dallas
