If the team realizes that he is serious come week 5 or 6, a trade will be made. If not, Briggs will not play for the team because he is that frusterated.

Briggs and Drew Rosenhaus have all ready admitted that Briggs would report late in the year just to collect money and go through the process next year if they need to. Meanwhile there is no talk on the trade front and the likelihood is the Bears will be stuck with him. So with no one really suiting him at this point and Briggs stating he will come in late in the year, he will suit up for the Bears this year even if it is not his long term home.

You can't really think that he will come back though. Rosenhaus will get something worked out because he always does. He will eventually get dealt somewhere.

Well when he says he will come back late in the season, I believe he will come back late in the year or cave earlier. He wants money, which is why he is holding out in the first place. 7.5 million will become attractive to someone who wants money.
What do you mean Rosenhaus always gets something worked out? He's had a history of having players demand more money and reporting later for the same price.

Rosenhaus history of sucess outnumbers his cases of negatives. You cannot say that Rosenhaus will not get something figured out.
Everyone knows he will do something whether its get him a new contract or get him a trade.
TheDeity said 05/23, 07:43 PM
What success does he actually have? TO? Edge James? Rosenhaus has no true success stories.
The bottomline is that your man Rosenhaus all ready stated that Briggs would suit up for them late in the year.

Angelo and the Bears called Briggs' and Rosenpenis' bluff. There has never been a "franchise player" who sat out a single game...ever! I would be surprised to see him miss a single game, plus all that money. He'll come to his senses and realize he can't afford to sit out or tarnish his image.

Report Offensive Commenti don't think he has tarnished his image at all, angelo is a crappy gm, hes cheap. Briggs needs his money man, I don't care about the 7.5, he wants his 5 year contract. Angelo gave him a 6 year-32 or 33 million dollar deal, he would have gotten about 17 mil before angelo reneged and tried to restructure. Angelo is trying to play the wrong guy.

Report Offensive Commenti think the bears get something done before the regular season.

Report Offensive CommentNo, you're wrong. Briggs is the guy being played. Every year some hot shot LB wants to get paid more than he's worth, and every year GMs around the league say no to these dispensible players. Again, cap management requires a team and GM to pay only one position the big bucks. This is something Millen has yet to figure out. **** of a GM, paid out how much money to WRs the past 5 years? It's better to be cheap than retarded.
