1. Which Eli will show up??? I believe he will look like a deer caught in headlights when the snow is swirling and he is caught up in the weather conditions and unable to perform......Favre is used to it.......Giants might be 9-1 on the road but they havent played on the road this year in these types of conditions, weather and a legendary QB looking to return to the SB.......

2. Ryan Grant has a little extra motivation (if he needed it) after being let go by the Giants......Sure, its a business but he will want to perform and show them they made a mistake......

3. The Packers have the better overall defense......Giants gave up 21.9ppg (17th in NFL) and the Packers gave up 18.2ppg (6th)......Giants gave up 24 passing TD's and had just 15 INT's......

That whole which Eli will show up thing can kinda be thrown away.He has played three of the top defenses in a row and has played excellent in all of them. Also when the conditions are bad then they just do what they do best which is run the football.

Ryan Grant may have the extra motivation but it doesnt mean much.He is going to run hard as usual and probably have a pretty good game but he will not run for over 200 yards again. The Giants defense is better than Seattles.

Those numbers for the Giants defense are inflated because of how bad they were in the first two games of the season.Remember the defense gave up 80 points in the first two games so everything is blown up.Why dont you look at the playoffs so far.14 points last week and 17 this week against the NFC's highest scoring offense.

And his line last game??? 12 of 18 for 163 yards.......Ok, but he hardly won the game himself......

If the conditions are anything like the Seattle game, no way the Giants run the ball 40-50 times......And if they do, the Packers shut them down......GB and Favre meanwhile are used to it......

Actually Cowboys had a terrible final month of the season and the Packers are much more in sync and hotter right now than Dallas......

Sam Madison is questionable for the game and they have a bunch of other guys hurt that will haunt them when they play a red-hot team in the Packers......

Cowboys might have been the fave but who actually thought the Giants would lose???

I didnt and this was an easy upset to call.......

No one said he won the game by himself,I dont think it says that anywheres in my argument. Also if the Giants run the ball 40-50 times no the Pack wouldnt hold them down. The Giants ranked 4th in the league with rush yards per game.Jacobs and Bradshaw are a perfect compliment to each other. Also who thought the Giants would lose? How about basically everyone. You look on this site it was all about the Boys also all these tv personalitys. And yea the Boys havnt played great in the past month but the Pack beat up on a Seattle team in which hasnt played great either. They played in the worst division in football and really struggled against the Skins last week.Wipe away the score because of too late int's for tds.Brett Farve is not used to temps down near 0 either by the way.He may have played more in them but he doesnt go out and light it up on those days.He plays decent and would get help in the running game when the team was good before. This game is so far from a lock despite what all you pack fans believe.

Seattle has a beast in Kearney.........And a better QB in Hasselbeck.......Please......

Seattle gave up 18.2ppg defensively, NY Giants 21.9......

The Pack would stack 8 guys in the box to shut down Bradshaw and Jacobs, forcing Eli to throw in those horrible weather conditions.......They wouldnt be able to run the ball 40 times effectively since the Packers only gave up 102 yards on ground......

Favre averaged 270 yards passing (2nd) in the NFL and will nickel and dime the NY defense while handing off to Grant......That short passing game worked pretty well vs the Seahawks and will against the Giants just as well.......

Burress isnt healthy and Madison is also banged up, 2 key players for the Giants......

Yea Kearney is a beast but hmmmm the Gmen have some defensive linemen by the names of Osi,Strahan and Tuck. Also yea go ahead and put 8 guys in the box I dont care what the weather is like you cant leave guys 1 on 1 all game long. And once again why are you comparing the Seahawaks the Giants. They are completely different teams.Lets see the Giants have a running game the Hawks do not.The Giants have alot of playmakers on offense the Hawks do not.The Giants have three Ends with 10 sacks the Hawks do not.Burress hasnt been healthy all year long but yet he managed 12 tds.Madision will be back this week,he almost played against the boys.Ross will probably play some nickelback. Also as far as your probowl statement when it comes to linebackers.WHO CARES!!!!The Cowboys had 12 probowlers and the Giants had 1.A whole lot of good that did.I dont care about the weather. It means absolutely nothing. You have two teams who are there playing a championship game.

Good luck

January 14, 2008  02:59 PM ET

i don't know how much better the giants run defense is than seattle's.. seattle is sending 2 starting linebackers to the pro bowl, shut down portis the week before, and marion barber had an easy time running on the giants... grant will be the diffrence... packers win

January 14, 2008  03:02 PM ET

The Giants d is alot better than the Seattle defense.Yea Barber had a hell of a half but he was completely shut down in the second half. Also they were the 8th ranked rush defense.

January 14, 2008  03:11 PM ET

NYG defensive backs are all injured, it seems. Driver and co will run circles around them. And the slippery winter conditions will help keep Osi and Strahan from getting to Favre.

January 14, 2008  03:12 PM ET

One bog run on paragraph

Anybody else's head hurt after reading that????

January 14, 2008  03:27 PM ET

Vote to Strainman. DJ, you fell into the trap of watching Manning's numbers. Peyton threw for 402 and lost, so why get all caught up in Eli throwing for 163. He completed 66 percent of his passes and led the Giants on some good scoring drives. Eli may never put up huge passing numbers but this Giants team doesn't need it. All he needs to do is protect the ball, limit the mistakes and score when he can. The defense will pick up the slack.

January 14, 2008  03:30 PM ET

The argument assumes poor weather conditions. I've read that it'll be cold, but not otherwise inclement.

The depleted Giants secondary is a much better reason to think the Giants will come up short. I'm reserving my vote until the last argument.

January 14, 2008  03:31 PM ET

Darrell Jackson, Deion Branch, Maurice Morris

Better yet

Hasselbeck is a way better QB than Eli

January 14, 2008  03:31 PM ET

Overall Yards Per Game:
Giants: 7th in NFL
Packers: 11th

Passing Yards Per Game
Giants: 11th
Packers: 12th

Rushing Yrds per Game
Giants: 8th
Packers: 14th

Sacks

January 14, 2008  03:33 PM ET

EJ

He will go 8-25 for 100 yards if it is snowing like it did against the Hawks

StRainman

Burress is hobbled, Toomer is ok but getting old, Steve Smith is alright but most def a 3rd WR

Most importantly, Shockey isnt playing.......

31-13 GB

January 14, 2008  03:34 PM ET

The GB OL is good and the Giants DL arent going to be getting to Favre on that slick surface.......

Guaranteed

Who wants to lay a wager???

January 14, 2008  03:35 PM ET

Last I checked u gotta score more than your opponent, Dukeboy

GB gave up 18.2, NYG 21.9

January 14, 2008  03:45 PM ET

If the Giants win it would be a huge upset and to think the Giants will win is just wishful thinking until proven on the field.

January 14, 2008  03:50 PM ET

Fave 29 of 38 for 286 yards in the 1st meeting

Now he has a running game

January 14, 2008  03:50 PM ET

35-13

January 14, 2008  03:51 PM ET

Their secondary isnt healthy.......

How are the Giants going to win????

With snow coming down and all???

Wish I could be a homerish fan like that

Myopic

January 14, 2008  03:56 PM ET

Giants were just waiting on Dallas to take the game at the end...Green Bay will take it...Eli and offense still too weak and GB defense healthy and willing.

the giants are simply not good enough.

If the giants go to the Super Bowl it will be like the last few years when the weakest team for the NFC went..like lambs to the slaughter!!!
It would take an act of God for Green Bay to lose this one to the Giants!

January 14, 2008  04:01 PM ET

I'm a Jet fan.

You are acting like a child, if I must say. I disagreed with you and I think it threw you for a loop.

January 14, 2008  04:02 PM ET

Also it appears that 7 other people think the same way.

January 14, 2008  04:03 PM ET

P.S. the best thing Eli has not done is shoot himself in the foot with really bad mistakes...other than that...He's just an average QB physically with better than average skills.

Eli doesn't have the KILLER in Him!
