Keyshawn Johnson should have retired

Keyshawn Johnson was old and no one could really take a chance on him.He was asking to much money and wasn't showing the talent. It's a good career choice that he went to ESPN. The Titans could have taken him but they wasn't going to pay the money for him.

Keyshawn has the rest of his life to work for ESPN breaking down football with his character, his window to play the game will not stay open forever. He obviously wanted to still play this year or he would have retired before getting cut. Furthermore your claim that he "wasn't showing the talent" is ludicrous . He had the 20th most receptions in the NFL last year with 70, only 13 behind teammate Steve Smith. Not to mention last year Jake Delhomme played horrendous and Chris Weinke's fill in time was despicable. Keyshawn has plenty to offer any contending team as a number two possession guy. He may not have great speed, but he never has. Keyshawn remains a machine at moving the chains and catching the ball in a crowd.

As I previously said, he has the rest of his life to be an analyst, but his time in the NFL will not last as long.

He had a good carrer and now he has got to go. No one wanted to spend the money on him. No one needed a second string WR for that money.

Well my own Minnesota Vikings spent more than that kind of money on Bobby Wade this offseason, which is a player you can only describe as a career number two receiver. The Titans are ridiculously ignorant for not awarding him that kind of money because they have nothing of any value at that position anymore. Young has to have some weapons to succeed. Johnson has had a very nice career, but that does not mean it is time to call it quits when you can still produce.

The thing is Keyshawn would have been on that team only a year maybe two. They aren't going to spend money on a person who is going to leave in a couple of years. They would much rather have a young player who would stay many years. They need someone young Keyshawn is old and retired now. Always Keyshawn thought the same way because he did retire.

Just because he did retire does not make you right, way to remove the hypothetical from the situation. His tenure with a team makes him a perfect pick-up now. He is a veteran player that does not need a lot of time to learn a playbook and will make a difference for a contender in a push for the final year or two. He would have helped the Ravens, Chargers, or Titans. It is obvious that at least the Titans wanted him and would likely have made him the centerpiece of their offense. He should not have been hesitant to take a contract offer 2 million with more available in incentives. Those who get to play this game are a lucky few. For those that still love the game like Keyshawn does, retirement should be postponed as long as possible. The media will take him when he is good and ready.

He did so obviously im right. He thought the same way i did.

The problem is you said should.

If you would have said, "Keyshawn will retire," and he does you can make that statement.

He didn't do much last year for the Panthers. The thought was that he could take some heat off Smith and get the ball some. It didnt' work out that way though. He showed during the NFL draft that he could be a good studio host or analyst.

As I said all ready, he had the 20th most receptions in the NFL and only 13 fewer than Smith. Johnson continually moved the chains for the Panthers last season which is what he was expected to do. You just think that because you did not hear much of him he had a bad year.
