Pick one NFL team that didn't make the playoffs this year but will probably be very good next season.

The Bears.

They were really good this season. They didn't make the playoffs because they had a hard schedule. They have Devin Hester. They have Brian Urlacher. They really don't have a really good QB but there is a possibility that they could get one in the draft. I mean Deviin Hester has so many returns for TD's. I will be very suprised if the Bears don't make it to the playoffs next year.

Disagree?

Yes I disagree. I dont think the Bears will be "very good." Their schedule wasnt that tough, and they were still were dead last in their division. Their defense ranked near the bottom in every category, and their offense seemed to be even worse.

I think the team with the best shot at being good next season is the Browns. They won 10 games this season, and that was despite going 2-3 to start the year. Their last 3 losses were all by less than 1 score, and won 8 of their last 11.

Browns will be back next season, and might even win their divsion. Bears on the other hand have a lot of work to do.

The Browns did have a very good year this year. But if the Bears actually get a steady quarterback next year, they should be good.I mean those rankings are from this year, not next.

How do you know those rankings are going to be the same next year?

I dont... But the Bears struggled in every aspect this year except for Devin Hester. They were 27th in total offense, 30th in rush yds, and their defense was even worse. They gave up 350+ total yds (28th), and ranked 27th agaisnt the pass and 24th agaisnt the run. They need help all over the place, not just at qb.

The Browns meanwhile had an excellent year, and were even tied with a team that made the playoffs. They finished the season very strong going 8-3, and as I mentioned all those losses were by less than one score. Give Anderson one more year in the system and they will likely be atop their division next season.

They might have struggled this year but anything can happen.Give the Bears a good Quarterback and they are good to go.

If you want to use the "anything can happen" argument, than what was the point of this TD in the first point?

Buffalo Bills!

I've already bought my Dolphins AFC Champs shirt for next year.

Ugh...Browns WERE good this season...depending on Buc's next argument, I'm leaning his way right now.

Report Offensive Comment

What about Vikings... If they can get a good draft, they have a great shot of doing good next year with Adrian Peterson and a great line.

Report Offensive Comment

the argument is a team that didnt make the playoffs this year...
If they werent good enough to make the playoffs then they weren't very good.
Good is arbitrary here. Good as in better than you were the year before? The Browns improved..
I'll wait for arguments but leaning ------------------------------>

"Ugh...Browns WERE good this season"

True, but the title of the TD is "didn't make the playoffs this year".

Report Offensive Comment

The Browns didnt make the playoffs this year.

Report Offensive Comment

Of course the title is who didn't make the playoffs this year. I'm not saying he broke the rules, but the Browns are already very good IMO.

Report Offensive Comment

Gotta go Buffalo Bills on this one, no question.

The Bears have no RB or QB. You aren't going to see large improvements in a team lacking at those positions.

Believe me, nobody is more painfully aware of that than I am. The Cowboys have the Browns first round pick in the draft this year, I was hoping for a top 10 but ended up with #21. ;-(

no vikings?

Bears stink and don't look to be getting any better. Saints got off to a rough start and might be better but if the trend continues with the NFC south the Falcons will win the division. Last place team seems to finish first the next. I also think Houston is improving if they can stay healthy. Half the teams that made the playoffs this year probably won't make it next year. Also we should get 3-4 new division winners. Happens that way every year now.

Report Offensive Comment

if you base the browns losing by 1 score or less than the bears have 7 of them this season....and if the past season had anything due with the up comming one...why are the giants in the super bowl...defensively they were bottom 25 in most every category last year...

Viks will be this years SF...hype...hype....hype....implode

im pretty sure the bears had a top 5 strength of schedule this year so it deffinitely wasnt weak, although they obviously still struggled and the loss of nate vasher completely crippled the secondary... the o-line is old and is garbage, ced-ben is a bottom 5 starting back in this league and altogether their 4 million $ a year coach is horrible

The Browns have a shot at their division. I think they can knock Pittsburgh down. The Ravens and Bengals are not going anywhere. So I like the Browns' chances. The Eagles might have a shot. I really don't see NYG or Dallas having great seasons next year. Dallas doesn't have it up stairs and the Giants have played great but well above their talent level. Like the Bears did last year. So the Eagles could also get in. The Vikings need a QB, WR's and DB's before they get into the playoffs and maybe a new coach. If the Bills go with Losman and not Edwards they have a shot, I guess.
