G.O.A.T. is back? said 05/28, 08:05 PM
I would take Deron Williams. He already led his team to the conference finals. Did you see Game 3 against the Spurs? He took over. He was scoring at will and driving by the so-called "quickest" player in the NBA, Tony Parker. When they collapsed on him, he was dishing to the open men and racking up the assists. He is the type of player that Sloan loves and will flourish in his system. Chris Paul, as we have seen, is a great player but doesn't have the ability to lead his team. Maybe he will mature, and Paul will end up being a better player. But he hasn't shown that yet. So I take Deron. Game 4 is tonight.

I would take Chris Paul because i believe he is a better player, on a not so good team. he won ROY and did so with no one to pass to. He played well this season despite having his 1st two options injured. Deron williams is playing good on a very good team. Chris Paul is playing great on a terrible team. All around despite the players around him Chris Paul is a better player

If Chris Paul has such bad teammates then why did he say that they really didn't need a player in the draft and had enough talent. And the Jazz don't have that much. It's him and Boozer. AK47 helps out too. But the rest (i.e. Okur and Fisher) haven't had a good game yet in the Spurs/Jazz series. And the thing about Deron is that he is deceptively quick. He has one of the best crossovers in the game and 5 minutes ago he crossed up Bruce Bowen, the "best defender in the NBA."

i gotta admit that was pretty sweet. But were not talking about whos quicker, were talking about who we would rather have on our teams. I think Chris Paul because he is able to play well without a team around him. By the way, if okur and fisher were on the hornets they would both be starting. Chris Paul although he might never be televised or promoted cause his team sucks is still a great player, and i would perfer chris paul although they are both great

Okur and Fisher start on the Jazz too so what are you saying? And Kirilenko played terrible last night so Deron stepped up and had 18 points, 4 assists in the first half. The Hornets were good last year and were good this year they just underachieved and a good leader shouldn't let that happen. So stop saying all this crap about the Hornets are so bad because GOOD PLAYERS MAKE PLAYERS AROUND THEM BETTER.

Yes and chris Paul has made there team a hellavu lot better
2004- 18 and 64
2005- 38 and 44
and this year 39 and 43
he made a team that could have been lottery bound for the next 5 years a playoff contender. although deron might be playing great right now i would rather have CP3 for the long run

This is an excellent throwdown as you can't go wrong with either guy. Before the playoffs I would have said Chris Paul, but now I'm leaning towards Williams.

D-Will is doing good in the post-season this year, but when it is all said and done CP3 will be the better player.

Yeah, before the playoffs I probably would have said Paul. But I didn't really see Williams play that much this year. I've seen him and he is definitely better.

D-Will, by virtue of his growth and performance in these playoffs, has taken his game to a level that Chris Paul has not seen...yet. He is avg about 30 ppg, and is coring at will against a premier defender in B.Bowen...D-Will is turning into one of the best PG in the league with Nash, Kidd, Parker, Billups B.Davis

how the hell is Deron Williams like Jason Kidd? Just because he is a big point guard doesn't mean he's like Kidd. Chris Paul is like Jason Kidd.

These two are both going to be great players. It could be like the recent Wade-Lebron thing. Wade is a leader and has the intangibles while Lebron is the better player without the guys around him needed to win a championship. In the end what is the goal? Getting a ring.

And the Jazz picked Williams before the Hornets picked Paul meaning that coming into the season the Jazz were a worse team.
