Joe Flacco if you meant all week.

I meant just the game. You can change if you want. But I will argue my case.
Andre Woodson and Colt Brennan played horribly. John David Booty had an interception. Ainge wasn't even supposed to be at the Senior Bowl. He only got invited cuz Brohm couldn't go. Then what does he do? Leads the South on a game-winning drive throwing six completions and having the best game of anybody.
He has always been accurate, but never clutch as he was today. And that will go far with NFL scouts.

Ok, I'll change my pick to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Dominique was considered a second day draft pick before the Senior Bowl. He excelled in the game. He defended multiple passes and has showed great coverage skills. He has covered many of the draft's top receivers and he succeeded. He has just as good ball skills. Adarius Bowman was about to catch the ball down the sideline and he reached around and knocked the ball away. Later on in the game he had a leaping pick on a deep pass. He showed great athleticism, coverage skills, and ball skills all in the same play.
His two biggest question marks were competition and if he could tackle. Like I said, he faced top receivers and outplayed them, outplayed them by far. He made multiple tackles. On his first five attempted tackles, none of them were broken. He was very physical and laid out Adarius Bowman twice.
On the game winning drive on fourth and ten he lobbed the ball up for grabs and it could have been easily knocked down, but Andre Caldwell caught it. His receivers were usually wide open and Forte from Tulane did a lot on that drive.
Also, Domique is related to Antonio Cromartie and plays similarly to him.

Ainge meant everything to that drive. He was on target, precise, and smart with the football. He didn't force things nor did he make crucial mistakes. I am sure teams were impressed by his performance, and he will move past Colt Brennan, Joe Flacco, and maybe John David Booty in the Draft.
If it wasn't for Ainge, the South never would have won. It was all about who was going to step up under the pressure of your every move being evaluated and neither Woodson nor Brennan stepped up. But Ainge did and I think everyone but my city of Knoxville was surprised.
Ainge will not be picked in the first round. All I'm saying is that he greatly improved his status in the minds of many NFL coaches.

You are only considering a single drive. As for Domique, he excelled in multiple drives until getting injured and being forced to leave the game. Ainge had one forced through on that drive. It was on a crucial 4th and 10 and he put all of his faith into Andre Caldwell who, luckily for Ainge, jumped up and caught it. Also, Ainge threw it up the middle of the field multiple times and he was lucky enough that the receivers somehow managed to get to the sidelines.
He may have improved his status, but Dominique has improved it more. He was very physical and succeeded against the top tier receivers. He shut down Adarius Bowman, a big receiver with great skills.
You say people were surprised by Ainge. Do you think people were expecting Rodgers-Cromartie to be a force? The player out of Tennessee State who didn't start playing until his SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL? He is a hybrid between safety and cornerback, playing both in the game. He is a great tackler and skilled coverman.

Do you mean the entire week or just the game?

You clearly didn't watch the Senior Bowl this week because Flacco played very well.

Was that at the beginning or end of the week?

Report Offensive CommentBTW, did you miss that pick on that absurd throw by Flacco? Ainge helped himself considerably more than Flacco.
Varmint Hall of Fame | 01/26/08, 11:49 PM
I'm not arguing Flacco anymore. Just read the arguments. I'm talking about Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie now.

Report Offensive CommentVarmint, you voted for Undefeated and that's fine, I just want to make sure that you know that I chose Dominique, not Flacco.
