I say the Indiana Hoosiers.....

In addition to Eric Gordon, the best IU freshman since Isiah Thomas, the Hoosiers have playmakers. There's big man D.J. White, who dominates the boards. Then there are key role players like Jordan Crawford, Armon Bassett and Jamarcus Ellis. Kelvin Sampson and Gordon have the Hoosiers back in the national spotlight, where they are undeafeted in conference play. They are a tough-minded defensive and rebounding team that can score in bunches, especially when allowed to get in the open court, where Gordon can't be guarded.

The Hoosiers will likely advance to the Sweet 16 or beyond before Gordon says goodbye after the season. They have 4 players averaging over 10 points per game while Michagan State has 2. But it is hard to deny that Drew Neitzel -- a preseason All-American guard, is no longer the go-to player for the Spartans, having the "down year" he is having.

Good luck Anthony E.

OK well I have to say that this is a tough one to argue against. But I will try my best. The NCAAB season is way too long to think that Neitzel won't pick up his game. And Indiana has a much tougher schedule along the way then MSU has. They both have the same amount of losses, but UConn beating Ind. was a big nonconference loss. So was the Xavier loss. I would rather have lost to UCLA and Iowa (from your conference) than those two losses for IU.

Forfeited Turn

Oh that's ok. It happens.^ But i do think there are many reasons why MSU is better. I mean for heaven's sake they do have a good team, a great coach, and will likely in my eyes go to the Elite 8. but i wont argue since you didnt much besides that.

6 of Michagan's games have been 5 points or less. All of those could have gone either way. Kelvin Sampson is still one of the best coaches in the Big Ten, while they have superstars.

Gordon can't be guarded one-on-one on the perimeter.
White can take over the game in the paint.
Crawford and Bassett are capable of scoring 20 on any given night.
Ellis can deliver the ball on the money; he has almost twice as many assists as any other Hoosier.

The only players that are capable of doing so are Raymar Morgan and Drew Neitzel. There is no doubt that when in March Madness, Indiana can beat Michagan State.

ATTENTION: THE REASON FOR THE WISCONSIN LOSS IS SIMPLE.....ERIC GORDON IS PLAYING WITH AN INJURED WRIST!!!

Just because they are on a sudden 2 game losing streak doesn't tell me that they aren't the best team in the Big Ten. Gordon is phenomenal and will lead IU to the Big Ten title and at least a 3 seed, if not higher.

1."6 of Michagan's games have been 5 points or less. All of those could have gone either way."- A win is a win no matter the score.

2."Gordon can't be guarded one-on-one on the perimeter.
White can take over the game in the paint.
Crawford and Bassett are capable of scoring 20 on any given night.
Ellis can deliver the ball on the money; he has almost twice as many assists as any other Hoosier."- MSU's has more contributors that contribute less, but more collectively.

3."There is no doubt that when in March Madness, Indiana can beat Michagan State."- Where is that written? How bold of a statement. I have serious doubts on that...

4." THE REASON FOR THE WISCONSIN LOSS IS SIMPLE.....ERIC GORDON {was injured}
Just because they are on a sudden 2 game losing streak doesn't tell me that they aren't the best team in the Big Ten."- So then you are saying that if Gordon is hurt the team will lose? Then where are they complete? Neitzel is having an off year. MSU is doing fine. And if losing two straight games doesnt tell you anything what does? Losing two straight games doesn't help your case much especially when MSU is still winning games. MSU 19-2>IU 17-3. End of story MSU is better!

Why would you rather lose a conference game then a game against a team not in your conference?

January 30, 2008  08:16 PM ET

Go Badgers!!!

January 30, 2008  08:17 PM ET

because you have more conference games than you do nonconference. therefore it is better to lose a game in your own conference, becuz nonconference losses are seen as like "oh they can't play outside the big ten" its like a respect thing

I will vote to Denis.

What about the Wolverines?

Vote to Denis in all seriousness. Gordon is phenomenal and will lead IU to the Big Ten title and a 2 seed.

Vote to Anthony for going with the Spartans.

They were playing Wisconsin, the #13 ranked team. That is why they lost.

Can't use the injured wrist excuse with Gordon...he played, played well (16 points).

Whisky dominated that game for the most part...kind of clumsy blowing 15 of that 20 point lead they had at one point, but picked it up in the last 7 minutes.

WTH does that mean? You do know Indiana is ranked 11th before that game, right?

February 1, 2008  11:37 AM ET

Did anyone see the Indiana-UConn game? Because a depleted Huskies team took it to the Hoosiers.

Anthony's arguments are better, and I think the Spartans are better equipped to make a run.

how bout putting the vote on that pack brew?

February 1, 2008  12:35 PM ET

Just wrote a blog about this. Give me one meaningful win for Indiana this season.

February 1, 2008  12:49 PM ET
