Best NBA Center of all time.

Make your pick first, the we will compare in the following arguments.

I gonna pick Wilt Chamberlain.

Bill Russell University of San Francisco

Russell (BR) and Chamberlain (WC) it is. BIG RIVALRY!
[Did you know? Chamberlain signed a contract with the San Francisco Warriors in 1965-66 for $100,000, Russell then had his Celtic contract renegotiated for $100,001] Again, BIG RIVALRY!

First off Career Stats:
(WC)- 30.1 ppg, 22.9 rpg, 4.4 apg, 54 %FG, 51 %FT
(BC)- 15.1 ppg, 22.5 rpg, 4.3 apg, 44 %FG, 56 %FT

Wilt Chamberlain was a scoring, rebounding machine! He scored 100 pts in a single game, won 2 titles ( Russel won 11). Chamberlain is said by most to be the most DOMINANT player in the history of the NBA.
The only plus side I see in Russel over Wilt is the RINGS. Other than that, in a two man competition, 'The Big Dipper' was the clear winner. He posted the NBA record for most rebounds in a game against Bill Russell with 55! So far, Wilt The Stilt beats Russell.

Bill Russell was better than Wilt the Stilt Chamberlein. Their career stats are basically = so really it comes down to is the rings. 11vs2. Bill's teams won the championship 9 m,ore times than Wilt's did and they almost always during their tenures in the NBA eliminated each other from the playoffs. Wilt may have had some good games against Russell but nearly every time they played when it counted Russel's team won.

Russell's team may have beaten Chamberlain's team most of the time, but this is not about who's team was better. It is about the best Center. A good Center is a dominating figure than can score and rebound (most of the time). Wilt surpasses Bill in scoring by almost 15 points in their career, while rebounds are about the same.

Chamberlain= Best NBA Center EVER!

But when it mattered most Bill beat Wilt in their matchupos 11 rings vs 2 speaks for itself.

Blocks were not counted back then but if they were than Russell would have won by a ton

Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell were enemies.
Superman vs Kryptonite!

I dont know how you think 15 ppg and 30 ppg are "basicly the same".

Report Offensive Comment

The Stilt all the way.

Report Offensive Comment

In 1965 this was a non-debate. Wilt a great scorer but nowhere compared to Russell.

Report Offensive Comment

Wilt only said 10,000 but that's a new woman every day for 25 years.

Thats a whole lot of women!

I guess the real question is - remove them from their teams and build around them instead - no more rings, just two individual players. In that event I remind you that the NBA created a rule stating you were not allowed to DUNK free throws - thereby sharply decreasing Wilt's FT stats ... he flat footed dunked FTs ... so I hesitantly pick Wilt as the corner-stone for my all-time fantasy team.
