I am probably in the minority here, but I am going to with Taylor. In the first fight, which was very entertaining, I thought Taylor's problem was that he ran out of gas. That is a correctable problem. Taylor already proved that he has the power and talent to beat Pavlik by dropping him twice before getting floored himself. I like Pavlik a lot and will be rooting for him, but I think his chin will be his undoing. Pavlik doesn't have a good one and Taylor is an accurate puncher. Plus Taylor's trainer, E.S., is much better than Pavlik's foul mouthed trainer. Adjustments will be made by Taylor's camp and I see him winning this fight and forcing a third fight.

Taylor only dropped Pavlik once. And Pavlik is too big for Taylor. Any mental edge Taylor had will be gone now. I don't like this fight for Taylor at all. I think he is going to regret that he ever met Pavlik.

Ooops, I didn't know Taylor changed trainers. I have always felt that Taylor has had confidence problems. Even after he beat Hopkins, people did not give him much credit and I think his behavior changed. Taylor needs this fight. If he doesn't win, I think he becomes the next David Reid. This will be the difference. Pavlik's career will still be fine if he doesn't pull off the win. Taylor's will be over. I think he knows it and this will give him extra motivation.

It doesn't matter if he has the motivation, he still has to have the tools. Pavlik is like a Carlos Monzon type. Extremely big and powerful.
Taylor doesn't have the power to hurt Pavlik witn regularity and he has trouble reaching him last fight.
Pavlik is a nightmare for any middleweight right now. And if he can maintain weight, he will dominate that class for the foreseeable future.

I don't think you are giving Taylor enough credit. He is a pretty big middleweight himself. Taylor already proved he can hurt Pavlik. As far as boxing skills go, Taylor's got the edge there too. Pavlik is a big puncher with a good jab, but I think Taylor is the more complete fighter.

You falsely equate speed and mobility to boxing skills, ignoring that Pavlik is tremendously skilled. He just fights a different style.
Taylor leans in and likes to use his height and reach against opponents. But all of that is negated against the taller and longer Pavlik.
Pavlik is extremely confident right now and I just don't see this bout as being very competitive.

Taylor never has been able to correct his mistakes in the past and I don't think he will this time either. I do not think Pavlik has that weak of a chin. I see people saying that now that Taylor dropped him once (not Twice). Pavlik took all that Edison Miranda could throw at him and was never in trouble in that fight. Miranda punches a ton harder than Taylor, in fact he might the hardest puncher pound for pound in boxing. Pavlik admitted he stuck his chin out and it cost him the knockdown. I don't expect that to happen again and Pavlik will win another exciting fight. The way this guy fights all his bouts will be exciting. Look for him to than fight Duddy in the spring and they are even talking two more unification bouts after that this year.

Report Offensive CommentAlso Taylor fired Emanuel Stewart NORCALSURFER777. He is going back to the guy who taught him all his bad habits.

Report Offensive CommentI think Miranda made the same mistake Taylor did. Hurt Pavlik early and then burned himself out trying to finish him. Both fighters underestimated Pavlik. Taylor learned the hard way that he is good fighter and I just don't see him making that error again.

Report Offensive CommentI hope the Obama comment is only for the Democratic race, which is nothing short of a circus. He WILL NOT be our next president.

Report Offensive CommentTaylor has all the tools to be a truly great boxer but he just doesn't listen to to his corner during the fight or doesn't have the ability to adjust. He also backs himself up to the ropes way to often to be effective towards Pavlik. Pavlik is a flawed fighter himself. He seems to have just on style and that is charge ahead at all times. He will meet someone that will be able to expose that was well. In the meantime "The Ghost" is king of the middleweights.
