Choose a full 11 man offensive roster. Line-up is your choice but you must have 5 O-Linmen and 1 QB. The other 5 spots are up to you.

No players that have won MVP (NFL, AFL,SB, PB)

No active players(Modern Era only)

Use different players as much as possible

This may take a minute, so take you time

QB - Jim Kelly

RB - Curtis Martin

FB - Mike Alstott

WR - Cris Carter
WR - Tim Brown
WR - Andre Reed

OT - Anthony Munoz

OG - John Hannah

C - Dwight Stephenson

OG - Billy Shaw: Only person in history to play ENTIRE career in AFL, and be elected to HOF for the NFL

OT - Jackie Slater

QB-Jim Kelly

RB-Eric Dickerson

WR-Lance Alworth
WR-Steve Largent
WR-Tim Brown

TE-Ozzie Newsome

OT-Anthony Munoz
OT-Art Shell

OG-Gene Upshaw
OG-John Hannah

C-Dwight Stephenson

So the differences are:

Eric Dickerson v. Curtis Martin
Gene Upshaw v. Billy Shaw
Art Shell v. Jackie Slater
Cris Carter & Andre Reed v. Steve Largent & Lance Alworth
TE Ozzie Newsome v. Mike Alstott

So there are a lot of differences. The Pro Bowl & SB MVPs really threw me off. That's why it took me so long.

Dont worry about how long it took you. It took me over an hour, and I made the rules...I had to sift through Wikipedia and NFL.com for a very long time

So we will go Maritn vs Dickerson...Curtis is one of 5 RB's in the history of the NFL to have 400 REC's and 10,000 yds rushing. The others are Payton, Thurman, Faulk, and Barber. Any time you are mentioned in the same breath as Faulk, Payton and Thurman...Your doin somthing right. Funny thing is all three of em have won a MVP honor.

Martin: Only RB in NFL history to gain 1000 yds in 10 consecutive seasons. 14101 yds, 90 TD's on the ground. 484 REC's for 10 more TD's. He's currently 4th ALLTIME in Rushing history

Dickerson is 6th all time rushing, but he only has 8 seasons over 1000 yds..

Martin > Dickerson = NO Brainer

Gene Upshaw v. Billy Shaw: Upshaw should lose points for the way he is handling the NFLPA issue's. Just kidding....well, not really but here we go. Both Shaw and Upshaw are HOF gaurds. The difference is Billy Shaw never played a snap in the NFL, yet voters deemed him worthy of HOF honors. Seeing how he is the only person in history to do so, that is a note worthy accomplishment

out of space

Dickerson in my mind is better than Martin.

Martin was an Pro Bowler 5 times. Dickerson was an Pro Bowler 6 times. Dickerson led the NFL in rushing yards 4 times. Martin led the league in rushing for one season. Dickerson was also the fastest player to 10000 yards.

The reason why Dickerson had only 7 seasons over 1000 yards was because of a contract issue & injury problem that plagued him for most of his career in Indy. However, those 7 years were his first seven. He just got hurt later in his career. Dickerson was the better back.

For Upshaw v. Shaw, I don't think the AFL was a big deal. The AFL was only around for 10 years, so many players that played in the AFL went onto play in the NFL after the merger. Some of them would have been HOFers if they would have retired in 1969.

Upshaw played in 3 Super Bowls and 3 AFL championship game. Shaw played in 3 AFL championship games. Upshaw's teams had more success than Shaw's throughout his entire career.

Shaw never had a great player behind him, and Jack Kemp was the only great player he blocked for. Upshaw blocked for George Blanda, Jim Plunkett, and Ken Stabler. The line led by Upshaw made those guys.

I wont waste anymore space on players we already did, But Martin is still better then Dickerson. Martin stayed CONSISTENT for a entire DECADE

Cris Carter & Andre Reed v. Steve Largent & Lance Alworth, this should be intersting.

Reed and Carter combine for:
8 ALL PROS
15 PB's
2052 career REC's....Yes, thats over 2000
27,097 yds REC
217 REC TD's

Allworth and Largent combine for:
15 All-Pros
14 PB's
1361 REC
23,355 Yds
185 TDs

Besides PB's and ALL Pros...Carter and Reed are much more productive then Alworth and Largent. All respect given to Largent and Alworth of course

Now, I dont really think this is fair, but Slater vs Shell is NO CONTEST. Beside's Munoz, Slater is the best OT in the history of the NFL. There are better linemen like John Hannah, but when it comes to OT's, Slater and Munoz are the best

The QB position took me the longest. I can't believe Kelly never won any type of MVP.
