He was pretty old but he was a good coach and one more season he could of broken a lot of records.

Thats kind of a dumb reason to not retire don't you think? If his heart wasn't in it anymore, and he wanted time off, then who are we to say he shouldn't have retired. If he wanted the records you speak of so bad than he wouldn't have retired. He most likely was sick of coaching in Dallas. Some of the players like Julius Jones have already spoken out about him.

His heart was still in it but every one wanted him to retire...other wise he never would of.
HardAbs05 said 06/04, 10:04 PM
And I am guessing you are Bill's brother? Bottom line is he retired because HE wanted to retire. He has been coaching for a long time and has even retired before. Who knows if he will come back, but he willingly retired after this year so to say he shouldn't have is just not very smart. If he was only in the game just to "break lots of records" then he'd still be going through the motions but hes not the type of coach to do it unless his heart is in it.

He coached for a team with a horrible manipulative owner. Plus he always looked like he was incredibly constipated. It was good that he retired again- maybe now he can get that fiber...!

Yeah... he should.... Bill is done. He was good, but he has lost that enthusiasm like a Mangini or Payton have now.

tuna left on his own terms. HE was the one who said he needed to leave. had jerrah canned him, there may be an argument. i think he did alot to build a solid foundation, but am glad he stepped down. he seemed set in some old school ways and the players' have echoed that sentiment.

If he still wanted to coach more power to him, but he was literally gonna stress himself to death.

I still can't believe the tuna was there for so long with Jerry Jones constantly looking over his shoulder. Owners who are too involved with the day to day decisions and running of the team are a bad thing... hire a GM...

He had no choice. Why? two letters.....T and O!
Bill is not comfortable or effective in a situation where the chickens rule the roost.
I am no Parcells fan nor a fan of Dallas but to say that he is DONE, isn't fair. He has made every team that he has taken over better than what it was when he got there. Does he have another Super Bowl in him? Probably not but how many head coaches out there will never get to a Super Bowl?
