My list is:

1. Chris Paul

2. Allen Iverson

3. Jason Kidd

4. Steve Nash

5. Deron Williams

1. Steve Nash

2. Jason Kidd

3. Chris Paul

4. Gilbert Arenas

5. Baron Davis

AI is technicaly a SG so you can change him for someone else in your next argument.

Oh. he's listed as just a G, and plays both, but I'll change it for you.

Everyone behind A.I. moves up one spot, and I'll put Baron at number five.

Okay, now comparison:

1. Chris Paul vs. Steve Nash(this season)

PPG: Paul- 20.4
Nash- 17.4

RPG: Paul- 4.0
Nash- 3.5

APG: Paul- 10.9
Nash- 11.7

SPG: Paul- 2.6
Nash- 0.7

BPG: Both 0.0

Nash wins in FG%, FT%, and 3pt% because he dosen't shoot much at all.

MPG: Paul- 37.5
Nash- 34.3.

Paul wins in 4-3. I win.

2. Jason Kidd vs. Jason Kidd

3. I've already compared Steve Nash and Chris Paul.

4. Gilbert hasn't played much at all this season, so I think I win.

5. Baron Davis vs. Baron Davis.

I win in 2, tied in 2, and you won in 1. I win the overall statistical analysis. I'll give reasons by word next argument.

Well actuly I win with Arenas PPG 22.4 RPG 4.40 APG 5.9
Deron its PPG 19.1 RPG 3.00 APG 9.7
Even though he has been injured the stats dont lie and he's comming back soon.
So that means I win in two and you win in one.

Okay. So you say that these stats tell that Gilbert Arenas has had a better year this year because of those stats? Gilbert has played 8 games this season.

Over Deron's 8 best games, he has averaged about 30 points, 7 assist, and 4 rebounds. Compare that to Arenas' 5 best games and I win.

Plus, Deron wins in BPG, FG%, FT%, 3PT%, and APG for seas on anyway.

There for, Deron wins.

Your turn.

Thats not fair because we're not doing best 8 games and you never said anything about FG% and 3PT% in your second and third arguments. You listed PPG, APG, RPG, SPG and BPG. So therefore I win with Gilbert Arenas and if you do count them I win with Nash so final score: I win 3 you win 1 we tie 2.

AI is not PG hes a SG.

1, Chris Paul
2. Deron Williams
3. Jason Kidd
4. Steve Nash
5. Baron Davis

AI is a shooting guard, and Gilbert Arenas doesn't deserve to be on that list because (1) he's been injured all season and (2) his mentality seems to be "shoot first, second, and third, then pass if you don't have the shot." You can't be called a good PG if you're team actually plays better without you.

Baron should be 2nd or 3rd behind Paul and Kidd.

Nash is a product of the system and doesn't play defense.

dwade you missed the biggest stat for a PG. TURNOVERS. Paul owns Nash in this one.

February 11, 2008  12:24 PM ET

8 best games*.

February 11, 2008  01:15 PM ET

AI is starting in the All Star game as a PG so I think that qualifies him for that position. CP at #3 Jamie? really? vote to dwade

February 12, 2008  07:53 AM ET

Arenas hasn't even played. Vote left.

How do you win Nash? I said FG%, FT%, and 3PT% with Nash, yes I did, and still won in more categories.

As for Gilbert's, yes we are talking 8 best games, because we're comparing Gilbert's 8 best games. Yes, I did mention FG%, FT%, and 3PT% in both rguments. Read the whole thing.

For point guards, the most important categories are assists, points, then assist to turnover ratio. Both of you ignore assist to turnover ratio, and yo both blindly assume that all categories are equal, and that if player A beats player B in 4 categories by a little, and B beats a in 3 categories by a lot, A beats out B. You need to compare overall defense, not just steals and blocks. Points guards never get blocks, so its stupid to include that. Getting more steals doesn't mean you are a better defender. Most people agree Bruce Bowen is currently the best perimeter defender in the league, but he is not even close to leading the league n steals or blocks.
