I would make Chris Bosh the starting power forward on this team over Al Jefferson.
In college, Jefferson did play power forward. But he's a better center.
Then on December 6, 2007, Doc Rivers made one of his few good coaching moves of the 2006-2007 season: He moved Al Jefferson to center. Jefferson responded immediately and scored over 20 points for four straight games (at the time he had only scored 20 points once before).
During the first half of last season, where Jefferson was mostly a power forward, he 13.9 PPG. In the second half, where Jefferson was purely a center, he averaged 19.8 PPG.
My point is, that by making Jefferson a power forward, a position he's not suited to, you're sacrificing quite a bit.
This season, Chris Bosh has suffered some injuries, but has still been magnificent. He never really was fully healthy until the end of November this year. He posted some incredible numbers in December and January though.
December: 22.1 PPG, 10.9 RPG
January: 27.7 PPG, 9.2 RPG
What really pushes Bosh over Jefferson is free throw shooting. When a big man gets the ball late in the ball game and is fouled in the ball he's gotta make the freebies.
Bosh: .855 FT%
Al: .718

Jesus, love the Bosh pick. He has been a beast this year, much better than Jefferson.

BBJ, don't forget a lot of Jeffersons scoring increase last year coincided with Pierce being injured. It wasn't so much the move from PF as the increased opportunities. That said, I'd still take Bosh.

Yeah, he did get more opportunities to shoot, I'll admit that. He was bound to score more.
However, before the all star break, again, while he was a PF, Jefferson shot .484 from the field.
As a center after the break though, he shot .554.

You're right, I screwed up on that one. I thought I remembered him committing somewhere at some point though....he probably backed out of it though and went to the draft.

Jesus, he signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Arkansas. Just think, if he WOULD of gone to ARK, who knows what they would be right now..

Sorry, but while looking into all this...
Dwight Howard - Duke
Shaun Livingston - Duke
Josh Smith - Indiana
Sabastian Telfair - L-Ville
I dont know, just something that is very interesting. Duke would of won championshipS with them top 2 though. They would of locked both of the top 2 recruits at the time..
