better team mavs or spurs???

i think the better team is the spurs even though the mavs just got jason kidd the spurs alredy have 3 bigtime players in tim duncan manu ginobili and tony parker. tim duncan is arguably the best PF/C in the league. And Manu ginobili is underrated is my opinion. You he has all of the skills u need to have to be a great basketball player which he is. he can dribble shot long medium and short shots. also he is a good defender. and finally tony parker is one of the best guards in the league. he can pass shoot dribble and play defense.

the spurs also have arguably the best coach in the whole league in greg poppovich. he brings good defense and good dicipline to the team.

another thing the spurs have that all teams need to be able to win is experience many of the players have been w/ the spurs when they have been to the finals.

another good person on defense for the spurs is bruce bowen. the spurs have a great all around defense and defense wins championships that is why i think the spurs are better than the mavs.


The Spurs are a phenominal team, but I have to give this one to the Mavs. Look at the starting lineup of the Mavs:

Jason Kidd(assuming they get him):PPG 12.3 | APG 10.4 | SPG 1.5
Jason Terry:PPG 17.8 | APG 3.3 | SPG 1.1
Josh Howard: PPG 20.3 | RPG 7.4 | APG 2.1
Dirk Nowitski: PPG 22.2 | RPG 10.6 | BPG 1
Erik Dampier: PPG 5.4 | RPG 8.9 | BPG 1.3

That lineup is one of the best in the NBA and there is no denying it. The Spurs have a talented lineup as you mentioned, but it takes more than talent to win a basketball game, it takes teamwork and the Mavs have that catagory locked up.

Gregg Poppovich is a great coach but so is Avery Johnson, he is one of the most vocal coaches in the game. The man never shuts up! And thats what you need in basketball, a guy constaantly talking. A guy Miami could defenitly use!

You said Bruce Bowen is a great defender and there is no denyine that, but defense isn't everything. The Mavs have Dirk who plays great defense. In my mind, the Mavs just have an overall better team.


ya but the spurs have great defense and great offense. and if you said that the spurs dont have teamwork you would be completely wrong. the spurs probably have the best overall teamwork team in the league. and also gregg poppovich is also a very vocal coach.

also itsnot stats that make you a good team.wow you have 4 players in your starting lineup that average double digits in points 1 in rebounds 1 in assists per game my starting lineup matches that with better defense that is why the spurs are the overall better team you just basicially just stated stuff all about both teams.


That was the most retarted comeback I have ever seen. Stats do make some teams great. 4 guys avraging double digits in scoring is great. You must not know anything about basketball if you think double digit scoring numbers is bad.

I never said the Spurs had bad teamwork. I just said the mavs were better. You. How did you decide the Spurs have a better D. Did you read it out of your cristalbal. Get your facts staright and come back with a real argument

Sorry about the retarted mark that was a little wrong. But, stats do matter. Tell me would you take a guy averging 5 points or a guy averging 25 point? For the remarks downstairs i am trying to prove a point that the Mavs can be better.

You havn't gave me anythiing about why the Spurs are better than the mavs, your just giving me these little pointers about stats.

I have been a big Spurs fan for a long time and I do think they are the better team. But saying that, Kidd makes Dallas that much more dangerous so..., I think they're neck and neck. Plus, I'd have to see Kidd play with Nowitski and Co. before I change allegiences!
