We The People Tourney II:Who got the better side of the Heat-Suns trade?

Definitely the Heat. I will tell you why.

Shaq hasn't been doing his best for years. He was good for a while, but he is losing his skill. I know he is big ( like popular, obviuosly, because he has his own shoe.) But he hasn't been very good lately.

The Phoenix Suns win this trade for a few succinct reasons...

Shawn Marion wasn't happy in Phoenix.

The Suns made a mistake by trading Kurt Thomas, and they need more low-post bodies that can defend.

The Suns have a history of overweight rebounders (Charles Barkley anyone?). (Ok, that's humor).

In the Western Conference, you run up against Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol + Andrew Bynum, Yao Ming, Carlos Boozer, and so on. Amare Stoudamire has already shown that he has issues guarding players of that caliber. He, however, is an excellent help defender, so he's better suited as a power forward and guarding the weaker offensive post presence of the other team.

Losing a player like Shawn Marion is never easy, but he was in the last year of his deal, he was going to walk, and it also allowed Steve Kerr to shed the horrible contract of Marcus Banks. That's one thing that seems to be overlooked whenever people discuss this trade.

Forfeited Turn

Shaq still is an intimidating player on offense and defense. You're not going to run right at him and you're not going to leave him singled up on one man, regardless. He's still just too BIG for that.

Phoenix knew what they were doing with this, and when they come out smelling like roses in the end, all of the people who doubted this trade are going to look really, really stupid,

Heat will probably lose out if they can't sign Marion to an Extension! Or Marion will leave and the Heat get nothing but a chance to sign Ben Gordan -lol

It's really hard to argue against nobody.
