In my opinion anyone who claims to be a laker fan, then proceeds to name possible trades a'la odom-walton for artest, or anything and anyone for jason kidd, is not only a fraud, but wrong. no one loves J.kidd the way i do, he was my favorite player in elementary school, i still have the #5 dallas replica jersey but the lakers have shown considerable improvement without andrew bynum, and i dont think anyone outside of orlando or LA knows how good trevor ariza is. The average team age is around 26-27 they are considered to be a top 5 team in the most loaded western conference in recent memory. they get Gasol and go 7-2 on a 9 game 21/2 week road trip. up until the dallas trade talks, so called laker fans were all over third shift with j kidd trade ideas.We dont need him. I dare sum1 to say otherwise.

odom is a good fit, talent wise, he is just overpaid. with that being said, everyone knows that the lakers stole gasol, what would they have to give up to get j.kidd? 5 players like dallas? for an aging point guard? at one point they had 10 players dressing, are u saying that we should gut the team for him? i dont care how good he is, why would you take a headstrong leader like derek fisher who took less money to come back to the lakers and sit him on the bench? vujacic, farmar, and (radmanovic when hot) kill teams from beyond the line, kobe and fish bring leadership,ariza, turiaf and mbenga offer spirited enthusiastic defense. walton has his moments. and if u can convince me that the nets would trade kidd for mihm staright up, i would forefit the throwdown. see the thing is, iv seen this show b4, its called the lakers featuring the malone-payton experience. it started good, but i wasnt a fan of the ending.

with odom, gasol, mbenga, turiaf and walton they dont need kobe to play any forward positon, and when need be odom has the control to bring the ball up the court like a point guard. and the way they move and space the floor, it dosnt matter who walks it up, it goes thru kobe regardless. thats not even mentioning ariza. jason kidd is awesome, no doubt, but the lakers are playing to win championships, i want my reserves to be tutored and mentored by champions, and u can say that d. fish was in the right place when the lakers were serving fools in the playoffs with shaq, but regardless, he has the hadware and experience. was it not d fish on j kidd in the finals?
and look at the possible height and defensive possiblities in the frontcourt when Bynum gets back.
