Kansas-A good, well balanced, overly good team out of the Big XII. It seems we get one in the Final Four every year...or am I just imagining that. Whatever the case may be, Kansas has proven this year that they can beat every team that isn't it's rival, and it's unlikely that they will face either Kansas State or Texas until the Elite 8 or Final 4, and neither of them are balanced enough to make it deep into March.
Stanford-The Cardinal get to the Final Four because they don't rely on the three to win games. their primary job is to work the ball in to Brook and Robin Lopez (Who is a 100% 3 pt. shooter), which can also set up those open treys if they need them. They also have not lost games due to the triple.
Michigan State-The Spartans are a young team, but they have a very good senior leader at probably the most important position in Neitzel. Suton provides the inside presence that the Spartans need to excel in March.
Memphis-The Tigers have pretty good depth, being able to go 3-4 deep into the bench, still being productive, and when the three isn't working, as it hasn't much of the second half of the season, they are quick enough to slash and dish effectively w/ Dorsey & Rose.

North Carolina-Only losses were close ones to Duke and Maryland, both good teams. Tyler Hansborough is one of the top 5 players in the country, and Ty Lawson is a star too. This team is very experienced and will go far.
Georgetown-Were in the Final Four last year. Hibbert is the best big man in the country. One of the best defensive teams in the country, and defense wins championships. The Hoyas are also very experienced, and experienced teams tend to do well in March.
Butler-This will be their year.Great 3 point shooting team, and have only lost to a good Wright State team and Cleveland St., which they have already avenged. They only have 2 losses and went deep in the tourny last year but lost to the eventual champions.
Memphis-Very good team. Have not only handled C-USA, but have also beat great major conference teams. Douglas-Roberts and Rose are excellent players, and D-R is very experienced. They are the only team this year to take care of business every game, and are incredibly battle tested.

So it's Kansas, Stanford, and Michigan State against Butler, G-Town, and UNC...
Kansas is as good a team as North Carolina, and they have the kind of depth you need to go deep into March. To go deep into the tourney, you need to be able to overcome Hansborough and Ellington in foul trouble, which I don't think they have the team to do so. Kansas can deeper into their bench than UNC can.
The main problem that I see with Georgetown is that their team is so centered around Hibbert having no real backup plan--Patrick Ewing Jr.?--that when he is in foul trouble, see Syracuse, Memphis games, they have no shot at coming back. Ohio State exposed that last year, while the Hoyas still had Jeff Green to bank on. Unlike the Hoyas, the Cardinal has several options if one or both of the Lopezes get into foul trouble or ineffectiveness.
First off, I don't think winning by only 5 points at home can be considered vengeance, but Butler is a team that lives and dies with the three ball, and those teams are usually only good for upsets in the first two rounds. Look at the Final Four teams the last few years, Florida, Georgetown, OSU. All of them had strong inside guys, Butler has no one over 6'8"..

Sorry, but last year was Kansas' year, and they couldn't deliver. They usually beat the bad teams, but aren't getting many big wins. I really can't see Kansas stringing together 4 straight wins against the best teams in the country. And why are you so sure that they won;t play a rival until the Elite 8? There's no statistic to back that up. Plus the Big 12 hasn't sent a team to the Final Four in a while.
Come on, Stanford? They lost to SIENNA this year, and Oregon and Arizona State. And their a very young team, with many freshman and sophmores. The Lopez's don't really impress me, and they usually choke during the tourny. And trust me, they'll get behind in a game, and they won't be able to pull back in with the 3 ball.
I don't like Michigan State. They have struggled against the bad Big 10 teams, and they've lost the last 2 and 3 of 4. And a good tourny team needs at least one star, and I don't see one on the Spartans. Tom Izzo can't play for them, and neither player you named is really that great.

Have you ever heard of a guy named Drew Neitzel? I would consider him a star....Michigan State has struggled against weaker Big Ten teams, yes, but Butler has lost to Wright State, Cleveland State, and was brought to OT by UW-Milwaukee. Don't you think a team projected to be a 3-6 seed will have to face a team like those early? Michigan State has proven that they can bounce back from the losses to weaker teams, and destroy the next ones. After the loss @ Iowa, they won five straight, plus, I wouldn't consider Purdue as one of the "weaker" B10 teams anymore.
Kansas has won against Arizona, @USC, @BC (May not be great, but still, it's an ACC team on the road), a streaking Baylor, @ Georgia Tech, and Oklahoma. They haven't gone 24-2 against the weakest schedule in the country. UNC has done the exact same thing. They beat teams like OSU, Kentucky, Kansas State, and Clemson, but they haven't beaten Duke or Maryland, arguably their two biggest ACC rivals.
Georgetown does not have any major losses, but they still do not seem like a team that has the depth behind Hibbert to go deep into the Tourney, Stanford had beaten ASU at home, and they destroyed Oregon the second time, and has depth

WSU just had a bad streach of 3 straight losses, but they have turned that around with 3 wins. They play in the deepest conference in the land 1-9 even though they only have 10 teams (not 16 like the Big East).
You think you need guard play to make it to the final 4, then you have 3 starting point guards playing pg, sg, and sf all with good assist/to ratio. And here is the best part, 2 are seniors (Low and Weaver) who have started 3 seasons and Rochestie a junior who has been a significan player in the turn around the last two seasons.
You want big men there is Baynes ( a beast to say the least, even Kevin Love coward in his precense), Cowgill and Forrest can also play a good power forward, but they aren't as built as Baynes. Then there is Harmeling who if need be can be put in and he can nail 3 pointer after 3 pointer. He is one of the most amazing shooters I have ever had the chance to personally see. Once again they are all seniors except for 1.
Finally, Defense. Up until there rough streach of 4 losses in 5 games they were leading NCAA in points per game, they have one of the bgest man to man defenders in the nation in Weaver who can cover anyone on any night.
The only problem I see is if someone can get Baynes and then either Cowgill or Forrest in foul trouble early, which is what UCLA did in both wins, yet WSU still managed to keep excieting in those games with dramatic finishes.

Sorry let me clear that up, the reference to the 3 straight losses is from the same 4 out of 5 streach loss i mentioned later, in case anyone confused that. 3 of WSU's 5 losses this year have come against top 10 teams in UCLA and Stanford and Arizona who is extremely streaky. Only let down game came against Cal.

Butler doesn't get enough publicity. They are a great team. I ou think about it, schools like texas are about 30 times bigger than butler and butler still puts together a great team. Matt Howard is one of the most underrated Fresman in the country
