Dwight Howard's Superman Dunk shouldn't have been a 50. Gerald Green's Birthday cake dunk should have.

Yes, he did score some points with the creativity, but lets get one thing straight. Alot of people are able to catch a basketball in mid-air and STILL dunk it.

If you want proof, look here:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7jjYNFOcEXM

On the replays of the dunk you can CLEARLY see that he THREW it in. He DIDN'T DUNK it in.

That should be five points of right there. Next, it was a regular stance, except for the Superman costume, so 3 points there. That leaves he with a final score of 42. THAT'S what he should've gotten.

Gerald Green's REAL DUNK should have been a 50.

He not only DUNKED, but he had enough prescence of mind to BLOW out a candle WHILE he was dunking. It should have been a 50, no doubt.

First off Dwight Howard had so much air on his Superman dunk. Second Gerald Green's dunk is just a simple 2 hand-slam with some clever blowing.

Gerald Green's dunk was in th first round so he didn't mean for it to be better than his or other opponent's later round dunks.

If Dwight had so much air, why was he still too far enough to actually dunk it?

Gerald Green had Rashard Mccants bounce the bal, he than caught it in midair dunked it, and blew out a candle.

Howard did have Jameer Nelson lob the ball, but he didn't:

A) Dunk it.

B) Blow anything out.

Dwight Howard came out "firing", and so did Green. How could he not mean for it to be better than the other dunks? He obviously wanted to win.

Forfeited Turn

As some people think, I NEVER SAID THAT HOWARD SHOULDN'T HAVE ONE.

Howard's Superman "Dunk" wasn't really a dunk and shouldn't have been a 50.

Gerald Green's Dunk involved a lob, a mid-air dunk AND the blowing out of a candle.

Since when has blowing out fire become a necessary in an awesome dunk? Your obviously a pissed timberwolves fan. If you weren't so biased u would no that dwight howard's dunk was more creative and difficult.

Good luck.

I have to be honest Green's dunk WASN"T impressive. I mean it was a basic dunk, and he blew out the cupcake from about 2 feet away.

Report Offensive Comment

also had they moved the rim up to 12 feet like Howard wanted he would have been able to grab the rim, but that WAS A DUNK.

I never saw Green's dunk.Got back from mall right after it.Green's dunk was crazy, easy 50.

A dunk means to slam the ball from above the net, which is what Howard did, dont believe me look here

Justrun, He didn't slam it, he THREW it.

The argument here is somewhat ridiculous. Green probably should have been given a 50 for the "Birthday Cake" That would not however have given him enough points to win. Howard received 50's for his 1st 3 dunks, and the Superman dunk probably earned points for creativity and imagination. Green put on a fine show but it was 2nd best.

Hllywood, I never said he should've won. I just think the Birthday cake dunk should've gotten more points than the Superman dunk.

Report Offensive Comment

The birthday cake was lame. I mean, it was a simple tomohawk dunk while blowing out a candle. However, Dwight Howard represented for the bigs and proved that he had the most ups in the contest. He is rediculous.

Report Offensive Comment

It isn't degrading that he threw it in instead of dunking. Throwing it meant he had some serious air.

Report Offensive Comment

If he had serious air, he should been able to jump far enough to dunk, no one understands that...

Report Offensive Comment

I didn't get a chance to see the Dunk contest, I was out of the house. Saw it this morning though and I think Gerald's dunk was lame. It is original but in live action how can a judge see he was blowing out a candle? Only on replays can you truly see what he did.

Dwight caught mad air. He deserved to win just for being a big guy who can hang like that.

Report Offensive Comment

I think he meant to "be so high but not be able to dunk it" to blend in with the Superman effect.

Report Offensive Comment

I never said he shouldn't win....

Report Offensive Comment

I but it was a lot harder to throw that ball that hard into the hole than to dunk it

Report Offensive Comment

He couldn't even try to dunk it cause he didn't jump far enough...

Report Offensive Comment

I think Howard meant to dunk it, but he was too far out. But pretty damn creative still.

Report Offensive Comment

Exactly...he didnt get enough hop...

Report Offensive Comment

We were watching a dunk contest and he didn't dunk it... the score should have been less, not more, if anything.

gerals green, as the TNT commentators said, has too much time on his hands. i will give him credit for his creativity, but the dunk just didn't make up for what dwight howard did on saturday. howard isn't given enough credit because of his height
