This would be a very difficult process and would have to be considered with much revision, and repetition with the course of a franchise hanging in the balance. If I could pick three players to start an NFL team with these are the three I'd pick:

1.Chris Long

2.Darren McFadden

3.Glenn Dorsey

QB - Matt Ryan
LT - Jake Long (Michigan)
DT - Glenn Dorsey (LSU)

Matt Ryan - Alright, I know Eric Ainge and Chad Henne would be steals, but I am going with Matt Ryan, because he was the one that had the leadership of Boston College. Not that the others didn't, but this guy had a big effect on Boston College.

Jake Long - He is the BEST Offensive Lineman in NCAAF going into the draft, and probably the best in all of College Football at the moment. Adding him would make an impacting on your running game when you first start out. Because, if you have a good offensive line, then your running game will be good.

Glenn Dorsey - Well, he is one of the best coming into the draft, and he put up some great numbers against SEC teams this past year. He is a defensive game changer when he is out there on the field. His defensive leadership would be able to help out his young team that is develoing.

Here is what I have a problem with for you now. You chose a running back over a Great Offensive Lineman. If you have a great offensive line, then your running game will be good. (Examples: Vikings, Broncos). So I think you should take an offensive lineman in the draft, before a RB.

Good arg.

The problem I have with the QB's in this draft is none of them seem to me to be excellent prospects. If I had to choose a QB I would go with Joe Flacco. But I think the three prospects I picked all show more potential and stability.(Well,ok I admit it Long should be great)

And of course you need OL's but you do need someone to run behind them.I just wouldn't skip out on a RB,do it all, prospect like he is,with his combo of speed, vision, strength, and agility.

And it's vital in football to have defense.Defense wins championships.I thought of even picking Aqib Talib but held back on that.

Chris Long is one of the best defensive end prospects in the last couple years and should provide some great years of run-stopping,QB sacing play.

And of course Dorsey,I don't wanna hear that injury talk FN.When a great defensive prospect like that comes around, you take it.

None of them seem excellent? Or do you mean over-hyped? Yes, I think that is how it should be put. Joe Flacco would be a good choice, but not over a couple others.

Onto your offensive line vs. RB debate. There is a thing called Free Agency. Running Backs are all over there, and Jamal Lewis is going to be a free agent as well this year.

So, what if I have a talented, young offensive line, and take a RB out from free agency, like Lewis or anyone else that is there. Or what if I have a talented running back, but not so good of an offensive line, which would you rather have?

I would rather kill two birds with one stone by taking the good offensive line. Once your offensive line is great, you will have your QB under a lot less pressure, and your running game will be good at the same time, because the offensive line really helps shape up the running game. If you have a running back, where is your big offensive line to help him out? You need a line before a running back.

Chris Long is good, but I took Matt Ryan because of what he did with BC. He was their leader, and he will come into the NFL with that Leadership on an axpansion team if there was one, for their problems.

And in case you haven't noticed you can also draft OL's in the future. This Td is who you would start a franchise with. And with Mcfadden, you also get money.Yes money, fans are going to be exited about having a future star RB and revenue would sky-rocket.You could make him the face of the franchise which you couldn't do with an OL.You could wait to draft a OL.

I would rather kill three birds with one stone,LOL.

A solid D and a talented, marketable Offensive playmaker would be a good start to a franchise.

Good argument D-Fan

You can draft Offensive Linemen in the future, but none of them will be like Jake Long. Who would go before who, A Great Offensive Lineman, or a good running back, if you were building a new frachise? I would choose the offensive lineman to help your running game, because you can get a running back later in the draft, and they would still do well on your team if you had a strong offensive line.

Trust me, it isn't killing 3 birds with one stone, it is killing your rookie running back...

A solid D is a good thing to have, but you should focus more about leaders on your team in clutch situations when you need to score, like a Quarterback, which comes to my point of that. Matt Ryan was very important to the Eagles, because of his leadership there, and his ability to take the ball down the field when they needed to. Example: Their first meeting against the Virginia Tech Hokies.

So I think choosing a QB over another defensive lineman when you already have one, is the better way to go. So I am sticking with Matt Ryan.

Good throwdown, Cincy!

Better?Sorry about the screw up D-Fan.

February 18, 2008  03:17 PM ET

No problem, just a little misunderstanding.

February 18, 2008  03:19 PM ET

I think I would go the Houston Texan route and get a young QB to be my rag-doll, a-la David Carr.

February 18, 2008  03:27 PM ET

I did go that route, but I have reasoning behind it. I will also have more.

February 18, 2008  03:27 PM ET

Matt Ryan (Boston College)

February 18, 2008  03:36 PM ET

One could argue Sedrick Ellis is a better value pick than Glenn Dorsey.

February 18, 2008  03:37 PM ET

Yes, one could Lifer. I will explain more in the following though as my reasoning.

February 18, 2008  03:40 PM ET

I like detroit fans diversity - a QB a DL and an OL - but I will hold back on vote for now

February 18, 2008  03:41 PM ET

I would actually choose between Chris Long or Glenn Dorsey instead of taking them both, and leaving you with one offensive running back...

February 18, 2008  03:48 PM ET

I like the OL over the RB, but I will wait for the argument on why he went with McFadden.

February 18, 2008  04:23 PM ET

It's all about the O-line....

My bad!

February 18, 2008  04:57 PM ET

None of them seem excellent? Or do you mean over-hyped? Yes, I think that is how it should be put.

Oh my,bad,Ben,Geez

February 18, 2008  04:58 PM ET

No, they are two completely different things, I will explain after.

February 18, 2008  04:59 PM ET

You guys all talk about Flacco but have any of you really seen him play.

I mean really. I know I have and I'll tell what I think of him after you guys prove why you think he is a good prospect and not because Todd Mcshay says so.

February 18, 2008  05:01 PM ET

My problem with Flacco is that he played on a Spread Offense, and yes, I did see him play in a number of games this year. In the Senior Bowl he failed to do well, and I think the Spread Offense is having an influence on him. He has a great Arm, don't get me wrong, I just think there is one or two others over him right now.

February 18, 2008  05:02 PM ET

I may go down in defeat,as it seems I will,so I have something to say,MARCO!

February 18, 2008  05:02 PM ET

Now you will really pay!

February 18, 2008  05:03 PM ET

I've seen Flacco play against Delaware A&M and he looked solid.
