Padres will do better than Rockies in 2008

The Padres have the best rotation in the NL next to the D-Backs. Jake Peavy is the best pitcher in baseball. Chris Young could be an ace on almost any MLB team, but for SD he is #2. Greg Maddux is a veteran leader. According to Bud Black, Mark Prior is 100%.
Ofensivley, Adrian Gonzalez is one of the best 1B in baseball.


Pitching isn't everything. You do need runs to still win. And that's something the Rockies do best. They easily have the best lineup in their division, and most likely in the NL. The only reason I dont say the MLB is because most AL teams have a great DH.

Two great pitchers, a veteran, an injured pitcher, and a slighty above average 1B at best doesn't mean your better.

This team made it all the way to the world series last year. Losing Kaz Matsui will be hardly a speed bump for them. And if you think just gaining an old Jim Edmonds will help their horrible hitting your incorrect.

Im gonna need someone to decode what you just said. The fact that you say pitching is way more than offense is just an opinion.

And the fact that you just said that the padres offense is better than the rockies pitching is incorrect.

The Padres finished 20th in runs scored while the Rockies finished 17th in earned runs.

If you weren't clear that means the Rockies are better.


there are more stats than runs scored. FYI. Anyways, I didnt say that the Padres offense was better than the Rockies (which it is). I said that the Padres weakness, Hitting, is stronger than the Rockies weakness.

The Padres strength is stronger than the Rockies strength, and the Rockies weakness is weaker than the Padres weakness. In case you werent clear, that means the Padres are better.
