Gotta show the caveman some love.He is playibng the way all centers should,and thats average 3 blocks along with 16 pts and 13 boards.He is a monster this season and should win most improved player of the year award.But thats not the point,the point is he is a top 3 this season and only dwight howard and al jefferson are better this season

Now I would like to first give Kaman all the respect he deserves. He is having a great season thus far. Kaman is having a career year and has improved in every category BUT i'll give him a top 5 nod but definitely not a top 3. His 4th place position can also be arguable due to Al Jefferson great year.

Top 3 Centers this year? Amare Stoudamire(though with the Shaq trade, he will move to PF), Dwight Howard and Yao Ming. Closely looking in is Al Jefferson and THEN Chris Kaman.

Ok so STOUDMIRE vs KAMAN.Ever since AmARe played center,i never thought he was a complete center.He cant play defense,he cant get a double double and has a great point guard to give him looks.And a majority of great shooters to draw attention off him.READ MY ARGUMENT.

Chris Kaman on the other hand has to do it all alone.No point guard to feed it to him,no other great front court players to take pressure off him,and yet he still manages to get a FAT double double.

Now i may LOSE this one because of all the suns hiomers and because amare is more known.But in my mind,amare just is a better scorer and kaman kills him in the rest.Amare is mnot a complete center,which is why they got shaq.NOW PEOPLE READ THE ARGUMENTS FOR ONCE

Wow. Now I'm not saying Amare is the best center, but he is definitely BETTER then Kaman. Amare cant get double-doubles? So I guess his 23 double-doubles this year doesnt account for anything. I also never knew you get penalized for having good players around you. There are lots of flaws in the way you are arguing this because you are basing EVERYTHING off what YOU think and not the fact. The fact remains that ANY team in the NBA would LOVE to have Amare as their Center. He is a 3 time NBA All Star and a BEAST in the paint.

Lets look at their HEAD 2 HEAD games shall we:

Stoudamire: 29 ppg, 11rpg, 1.5 apg.
Kaman: 14.25 ppg, 15.25 rpg, 1.25 apg.

The fact remains the Kaman IS NOT a top 3 Center. Amare, Yao, Dwight and Al can be argued for those spot but Chris...Not so fast.

I threw Bynum out just for you A to the G, though if he were playing all year, he wouldve been top 5 and wouldve pushed Kaman off that list.

I just looked at his stats, and he has something like 23 double doubles.
