Schilling's 1 hitter today against the Oakland A's was not his best performance in his career. He is 40 years old now and he must have somewhere along the lines pitched a better game than he did today. He got lucky that the scorer called that an error in the 5th and he also got lucky that that ball that Coco cought wasnt outa there for a run. Also he didnt have many K's and clearly isnt well under pressure when he gave up that hit with one out to a no-hitter.

Are you kidding me? He went as far as you can go with out giving up a hit and not get a no-hitter. That grounder took a funny hop on Lugo but that meant nothing. Also that hit that Coco cought was nowhere near being a HR. Sure it was a great catch but it wasnt over the wall. He's not good in pressure situations.....What!?!?!?!?! C'mon....maybe you should have thought of something else for your first throwdown besides expressing your hatred on the red sox

This is a good thing to argue about. Schilling has bad better performances than this one. He pitched several better games when he was in Arizona and you know it!!!!

NO NO NO!!!! Schilling other than today has had two 1-hitters. One in 1992 and one in 2002. Neither of those times did he have a no-hitter with one out away from that feat. This is his vest individual performance in his career. He argueably should have had a perfect game going into the ninth considering that the Lugo era was a relativley routine play. His splitter and changeups were working perfectly and he hit his targets with the fastball.

Yeh what Limarick said....world series against yankees was his best performance. He was outstanding with them!!!! You cant beat that. I'd like to see you try.

Ok....so you cant make a good argument, you are far too cocky, and you have to just say I agree with someone to "solidify" your arguement. Schilling was also 5 years younger then, and even given that, the performance was more special, but definatley not more dominating. He had at least a walk in that game and today he had no walks. Think about it. Schilling today was a basehit and an error away from throwing a No-No, that is the Perfect game.

Today would have been his 1st no hitter.

And he shook off Varitek on the pitch the guy hit, bad Curt.

As anemic as the Red Sox bats were this series, he needed to bring an A game today, and that's exactly what resulted.

The World Series games were more important, yes, but today's game was Schilling at his very best.
