Please ONLY argue in second and third. thank you.

I'll take Jake Peavy

Brandon Webb

I picked Jake Peavy for many reasons but the biggest reason was because he won Triple Crown last year.

This is an amazing feat, only a few players have ever done it. He had a 2.54 ERA with almost 20 wins and 200+ strikeouts. Plus he is in a pitcher's park while Webb is in a hitter's.

Second of all, Webb might not have the offense he did last year. Many D-Backs had great years that came out of no where.

The Padre's offense will be better and result in to more wins. Adrian Gonzolaz is a star in a hurry.

Overall, Peavy is just a better pitcher and has so many other advantages going for him.

Peavy is a good pitcher but he wont win the triple crown again. He does play in a pitchers park, but also no starting pitcher can keep an era under 3 for two straight years.Plus Santana will have more strikeouts since he gets to pitch to pitchers this year.

Webb also had good numbers last year.He went 18-10 with a 3.01 era,194 k's and 3 shutouts. He plays in a hitters park which makes his numbers even more impressive.Last years the d-backs offense stunk and he still got 18 wins,Now that its better he should get at least 20.

The d-backs will win the NL West this year so there are also some perks that Peavy wont have, like a better bullpen and offensive players like Jackson and Young who will do better than they did last year.

Overall,Webb will be the better pitcher because his offense is better, he has a better bullpen, and a better defense behind him

Forfeited Turn

It comes down to that Webb will do more with a better team

Johan is in the NL now, he will destroy opposing teams...

'Johan is in the NL now, he will destroy opposing teams...'

kind of like he did in the AL...

In the last 4 years (he became a full time starter in 2004)...his averages are 2.90 ERA, 245 Ks/ 50BBs, .210 BAA, .99 WHIP, 227 IP...

and he's done it in the AMERICAN LEAGUE...not the weaker hitting NL league where you can pitch around the #8 hitter to get to the pitcher if you're in a jam....and where you can go right after the #9 hitter almost the whole game...
