2000 World series MVP should be Brian McNamee

I would like MLB to consider re-awarding the 2001 WS MVP and proclaim the rightful winner Brian McNamee. Roger Clemens, David Justice, Andy "somehoiw gets a free pass" Pettitte (which by the way is my next argument-that pettitte is a fraud), Chuck Knoblauch, Jose Canseco, Stanton other yankees cheated their way to the 2000 WS title. Clemens should have been ejected in game two for his apparent roid rage. Instead MLB bowed down to this cheating prick and he went on to pitch a gem of game two.

I ask you, who is responsible for that? That's right, ol buddy Mac.

This is the true shame of the mess MLB created.

Sorry jeter, we're gonna need that MVP back.


First of all, there is still no proof that Clemens even used HGH. In my mind he did it, but to say that Jeter should lose an award for his teammates actions that have not even been proven is insane.

The Yankees won the series 4-1. Clemens game probably did not even make a difference.

Derek Jeter rightfully earned the 2,000 WS MVP award. You can take away Clemens' Cy Youngs and all of his records IF he is proven guilty, but what did Jeter do to deserve his award being revoked? Nothing. HE shouldn't lose the MVP for something his teammate allegedly did. Plus, so many other MLB players took steroids so should other agents be winning WS MVP awards? Its ridiculous and you can't give out JUST one and expect it to end at that.

To give an award to an agent is just stupid. He did not play in the series. BY definition

"The World Series MVP Award is given to the PLAYER who most contributes to his team's success in the World Series."

Right there. Is McNamee a player? No. Did he contribute to winning? No. How can he win.

I could see if Roger won and you wanted to take it off of him, but wanting to take it off of a clean player and give it to an agent is stupid.


Ol Mac is not an agent, but hat is moot. You are correct...I was not being literal...i was just trying to rile up the dopey yankee fans...jeter is an incredible ball player and the shame of it all is all of titles are tainted as he was on the dirtiest team in the big league's

pettitte is a cheat. period. clemens is a worthless clown and torre should be the Hall of Fame of Overrated Sports Personalities along with tiki barber


I believe that both Pettitte and Clemens are cheaters too, but this TD was not the way to go about punishing them. You should put out a TD effecting those players specifically and not one like this that faults other great players just because they played on the same team as the cheaters. I doubt that Jeter even knew about Clemens and Pettitte using steroids.

Mabey start a TD about Roger Clemens losing his Cy Youngs or getting an asterisk in the book, but this is no the proper way to punish him. It really doesn't even directly effect him. It hurts his teammate. He is still sitting pretty. Macnamee is not eligable for the World Series MVP award because he is not a player, he did not play in the 2000 world series and if any, he only had a minimum effect on the outcome of the game but certainly not nearly enough of an impact that is neccesary to win the MVP rights.
