I will base this off of this year.
PG- Steve Nash
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- LeBron James
PF- Kevin Garnett- much more talented than Dirk and is having the better year. KG is a force down low and is a premier rebounder and low post defender in the NBA. He is a top 5 MVP cantidate this year and a lot of people have him as the favorite although I disagree. Dirk is a terrible defender. If we were going by offense, it is close, but bring defense into the equation and KG wins by a mile.
C- Dwight Howard- Howard is absolutley tearing it up this year. He plays with power and leads the NBA in dunks. He has led his team to first place. PPG 21.6 RPG 14.40 BPG 2.4
Great offensive and defensive player. Duncan is an all time great, but this isn't one of his best years.
bench
PG- Chris Paul
SG- Allen Iverson- Ray Allen is great, but he is the 3rd best player on his own team. AI is averaging 26.7 PPG, 7.3 APG, and 2.1 SPG. Allen has 18.7 points per game. 3.1 APG. 1 SPG.
SF- Carmelo Anthony
PF- Stoundemire
C- Tim Duncan
Shaq is too old. Only 13.7 PPG and 8.2 RPG.

i think that ray allen is as good or better than peirce its not allens fault he is on a team of a couple of superstars
Nowitizi is clutch he nails shots no matter how nice the shot looks or how many points he has prior i would give him the ball with the game on the line, garnett does not have a good jumper and could not finish a game off unless he is under the basket
J (Browns 19-0) Carbathlee said 02/28, 06:23 PM
Wait.... Dirk clutch. How do you explain he got the nickname chokewitzki?
I am not sure if you understand the role of a power forward so I will explain. KG is 200 times the PF Dirk will ever be. Dirk can make shots, thats true, but while he is out shooting his long shots, who is under the hoop to rebound the basketball? Dirk is an overgrown SG who can't post up. YOu have guards to shoot, he needs to learn his role or the Mavs will never win a Championship with him. With Dirk, you are basically running a 4 guard set which leaves you very vonerable rebounding.
As long as Dirk refuses to play defense, I refuse to put him on my list. KG is the MUCH better low post scorer than Dirk and is too much better on defense. THats a no brainer.
A.I. is having a break out year. Allen is having one of his down years in his career. You mention the great talent surrounding him. For a SG, shouldn't he have more than 3.1 assists a game with KG and Pierce?
I like how you didn't even touch on Shaq vs. Dwight. lol. Its alright, I honestly wouldn't even touch it either.

Shaq is more of a powerful force inside he draws defenders to him and he is going to make amare stoudemire become this years mvp. Shaq has the ability to make players around him better with his inside presence he is also a better passer than howard
Also shaq has playoff experience
J (Browns 19-0) Carbathlee said 02/28, 06:38 PM
Shaq is no where near as powerful of a force as before and even if he was, its hard to make an impact when you are only playing 28 minutes a game. He does not have the stanima or duribility at this stage of his career to make a huge impact or be a big time role player on a team. Shaq is good, but no way top 2 C.
SHaq may have playoff experience but if we are basing this off of this year then why does playoff experience matter? PLus, Howard is almost a lock to be in the playoffs this year at a high seed.
I don't see where you get that Shaq is a better passer than Howard. It doesn't really make that much sense or relevance. Its not like either of them will be leading in a fast break and have to make a cross court pass. The main passing they do is when they get the rebound to pass the ball to the nearest guard or when they post up and can't score to dish it back out. Thats not to say that all centers are like that and every once in awhile they are faced with difficult passes, but its a minority of situations and certainly not enough to base a descision like this off of.
Bottom line, Howard is whats now. Shaq is what was.

Report Offensive CommentCP3 over Nash. I would've went with it and I did the first time, but I ran out of argument space so I just left it as it was.

Report Offensive CommentShaq? Oh my, you're gonna need some serious arguments to justify Shaq's presence.

Report Offensive CommentShaq in his prime was one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Back in the good old days. When you could see a double feature at the movies for a dime.
