solid squad, solid squad. Tim Duncan is the best powerforward ever but in my opinion is boring to watch. I would rather have the dunk Champion or just the view of the Diesal power dunking on someone. Steve Nash is great but Kidd has taken his team to the finals. Yes, the Nets lost but he still go there twice. I know the west is harder but still. This matchup of teams is like old school vs new school. I have Kidd and Shaq and you have Duncan and Nash. Kidd and Shaq are out of their primes.
The Bandit said 02/28, 08:08 PM
I think my squad present better overall balance on both sides of the ball. Duncan is a better rebounder and FT shooter than Shaq, who although is still a good player but he is definitely past his prime. Duncan at the present time scores more and presents more of the attributes necessary to win a game compared to Shaq. I say present time because if we were to go back a decade or so ago, Shaq would obviously own him. But today, Duncan gets the nod.
Since we both have Dwight Howard , Kobe and Lebron..there's no need to argue their differences.
Now as far as Nash and Kidd, this is actually a great matchup. But overall, Nash will present more of a problem to opposing teams because aside from his playmaking ability, he is a pretty dangerous when it comes to shooting the ball. Nash has the better overall shooting % from anywhere in the court. Kidd is shooting a horrendous 37% from the perimeter. He's not all that of a great perimeter shooter while Nash is making over half of his shots at 51%. Kidd may get more RPG but he is also more likely to foul out early as he has an avg. of 1.8 to Nash's 1.3 PF.
More next argument.

Hold on, Hold on. I don't think people are getting this throw down. It's merely a popularity contest. It's not fantasy basketball or anything. Vote for Kidd and Shaq if you like or if like the BIG FUNDAMENTAL vote for him.(Tim Duncan). Kidd has been to the Finals and Nash hasn't. Nash will for sure but hasn't yet. Shaq is one of the most dominating forces i've ever seen in sports when he was with Kobe.
Shaq is one of the BEST centers EVER. Duncan for the Power forwards.
Kidd has 99 triple Doubles
Nash .....has a long career ahead of him but Kidd's eyes of the floor paved the way for people like nash.

Alright, I understand that it's not a populairy contest or fantasy basketball. But let's be serious here. If we took each of our teams and hypothetically make them the starting 5 for the next Olympic games, who do you think will have the better chance of attaining the Gold Medal?
IMO, my team would have the better odds because Nash is a master of setting up his teammates. He should relish on the opportunity to set up such a talented squad. Duncan, who already has more than his share of Championships, can bring that experience and determination needed to win the big games. He's not flashy and might be a little unorthodox in his style of play, but yet he is very effective.
99 Triple Doubles is amazing, and I admit Nash probably won't come close to touching that ongoing feat. I am not gonna make an excuse saying the East is weaker, but Nash has 2 MVP's in his honor. And as far as your argument of your team having better overall dunkers, does it really matter? I mean 2 pts is 2 pts no matter how it is presented. A layup or a fade away jump shot has the same value as a dunk, 2 pts.
Overall, Nash and Duncan are more effective and present more value towards winning.
