Tampa Bay Lightning


I would have to say the Los Angeles Kings. They have less points that the Lightning (56 to 57) and Tampa is at least making an effort in their games by being more involved in Overtime periods. That means they keep their games close while the Kings don't really have much of a chance against their opponents.

Tampa has lost only 31 games in regulation, while the Kings have lost 35.


Tampa just traded one of their best players though!


They dealt Brad Richards, but they still have a potent offense in LeCavalier, St. Louis, and Jokinen. The Kings best scorer is Kopitar with 62 pts. Tampa's Lecavalier on the other hand has 78 points and St. Louis has 50 assists. Even without Richards, the Lightning is clearly still the more talented team.

So they play in the West, but if you look at the standings, the Southeast divisons where Tampa is in is very competitive. Only 14 pts separate 1st place to last, so that means the caliber of the teams are not that far apart, making the Lightning a slightly much better team. The Kings are 31 pts out of 1st place, and the Lightning are only 14 pts away.

Tampa bay also has better penalty kills as well as better goaltending percentage. (goals against average)

With that provided, I think the LA Kings are slightly worse than Tampa Bay.

Lecavalier and St. Louis are their best. Lightning are better than the Kings, hands down!
