c: Carlton Fisk
1b:Jimmie Foxx
2b:Bobby Doerr
3b:Wade Boggs
SS:Nomar Garciaparra

Three outfielders:any outfield position:

OF:Ted Williams
OF:Carl Yaztrezemski
OF:Jim Rice

DH:David Ortiz

SP:
1.Roger Clemens*
2.Cy Young
3.Pedro Martinez
4.Luis Tiant(love the windup)
5.Smokey Joe Wood

Closer
Dick Radatz

My only change:

Babe Ruth ahead of Jim Rice

I assume that there are no arguments in the first round, so . . .

Ruth pitched for the sox and hit, not played right field. Although he waas a premier hitter for the sox, he switched to right field when he was sold to the yankees. Ruth never played a game as a rightfielder with the sox. His 29 homers stat is also distorted. back then, ground rule doubles counted as homers.

Forfeited Turn

I can't really argue anything. but, Ruth was an outfielder for the yankees and a pitcher for the sox.

Forfeited Turn

dang, one second away!!!!!!!!!

March 1, 2008  04:14 PM ET

Bade Ruth should be up there

March 1, 2008  04:34 PM ET

Babe was a good Red Sox player. He could be on there as a hitter or pitcher....

March 1, 2008  04:34 PM ET

Oops, red sox only?

March 1, 2008  04:35 PM ET

"must have good stats on red sox only, not career "

March 1, 2008  04:36 PM ET

So only his stats with the Sox count? Hmm, i might change my vote....

March 1, 2008  04:46 PM ET

Babe batted .322 with 29 homeruns with the Red Sox in his last year. That was the most mind-blowing year anyone had ever seen at that time! Of course now, that doesn impress anyone. 29 bombs? please.

In that year, Ruth was the best hitter by far.

Why do people put "argue later" and then disappear?

March 1, 2008  05:08 PM ET

If you don't want arguments in the first "argument", you should at least be ready put to up your first argument in the second "argument" right away.

March 1, 2008  07:26 PM ET

Yeah, that Ruth guy kept hitting balls that hopped over the wall...

March 4, 2008  04:24 PM ET

Babe had 89 wins with the sox - he would have to be pitcher if anything

March 4, 2008  04:25 PM ET

is anyone aware that babe pitched a complete game in 1930 and 1933 for the yanks? earning the win in both

March 4, 2008  04:26 PM ET

8 votes for an incorrect player position and no second and third argument?

March 4, 2008  04:28 PM ET

Two forfeited turns = vote against in my book.

March 4, 2008  04:31 PM ET

and he was doin another TD today before this turn was forfeited
