Okay, first of all, I hope you know that DT Shaun Rogers was traded to Cleveland for their 3rd round pick and CB Leigh Bodden.
A lot of people are saying that the Lions should of asked for more in this trade.
I think that the Lions got what they deserved.
Leigh Bodden matched a career high in interceptions last year (6) and tackles (76). He is still young and should be a great fit with the Lions who desperatly needed a corner back.
The draft pick that they recieved should be useful, you might say that it is only the third round, but I'll throw a name out there. Tom Brady. Enough said.
Shaun Rogers didn't want to stay on the Lions anymore and if the Lions kept him, it would just result into bad chemistry and one sack every three weeks. Plus he is waaaaay overweight. He was playing close to 400 pounds last year, not good.
The Lions got what they deserved, it was a great trade for Detroit.

Alright, I'll give it a go.
I think the Lions should have asked for more here.
Rodgers made a big impact on the Lions D last season, putting up a career high 7 sacks with 39 tackles (2nd most on D line). He also scored a touchdown for the team last season off a 66 yard interception. He was a big part of that team last year.
Bodden came off a career high season last year, but it should also be noted that he's making the transition from 3rd worst defense to worst defense in the league by total yardage given up. The Lions sucked with Rogers, and he was one of the few players that actually made an impact on the team... kinda.
By trading him and picking up a CB who's only had one good season, your not improving your D much.
The Lions made a nice trade, but they coulda gotten A LOT more out o fit than just a 3rd round pick and Bodden.
And there's a chance that the guy they get in the 3rd round could be good. Key Word: COULD. Just cus Tom Brady came outta the 3rd round doesn't mean the Lions will get someone great with that pick. Chances are it'll just be a guy who gets cut in the Summer.
Lions coulda got way more outta that trade. Good job Millen.

Brady was actually the 6th round. And to throw his name out like that is pointless. We are talking about Matt Millen doing the drafting not Scott Pioli. For every Tom Brady I can give you 100,000 Kareem Larrimore's and Jacob Rogers'.
