If I'm drafting #2 overall in any fantasy league, I'm not taking Albert Pujols. Statistically, he's coming off his worst season since his rookie campaign. With little protection in the Cardinals lineup, Pujols is probably going to walk more than ever before. On top of those two strikes against him, Pujols has a nagging elbow injury that EVERYONE seems to be worried about.
He played with pain in the elbow last season, had his worst season, and then opted to forego surgery this past offseason. With so much top-tier talent at 3B and many studs at SS, I would avoid Pujols. Also, many players with numbers similar to what he posted in 2007 are available at 1B.
I'm not saying Pujols should be drafted lower than round one, but I'm not taking him #2.

As i look far into the future i seem to be coming across something........yes......yes very good..............Pujols goes 2nd in a Draft!!!
Dear god that proves you wrong.....the seer has spoken
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------
The fact is that in what is considered to be a down year pujols was still 9th in the MVP voting..Thats crazy his worst year ever and he's 9th!!!
Pujols stats:
185 Hits
99 Runs
38 Doubles
1 Triple
32 Home Runs
103 RBIs
99 BBs
58 Strikeouts
.429 OBP
.568 SLG
.327 AVG
Does anyone remeber when those were bad numbers?

I say #1, but thats just because in my league players who hit for average are MUCH more valued than power hitters.

His "worst" season would probably have been his second season, where his rbi, hr and avg dropped from his roy numbers.

makes sense.... i don't understand this.... it says Albert Pujols should be drafted #2 overall in your fantasy baseball draft this season, then he says he shouldn't.... did he make a typo in the title or is he being dumb or what??? im confused...

he had a bad 1st half, in the second 2nd half he slugged over .630 and had an OPS of 1.081...
So, health reason maybe, but if he's healthy enough to play expect awesome results....

Yes, if he is healthy, he will play well. He is injuried right now, and he says that he is going to play untill it blows. So, he will be injuied the entire year, as what it sounds.
I don't know what he is talking about right now. SOME CLAIFICATION PLEASE!!!

If his elbow is fine he should be taken first.

I wouldn't take him #1 or #2. He doesn't seem to have the heart anymore and his support is blah.
