Best MLB Fight Ever

First of all, I think that the best sports fights are in baseball, just because the whole bench clears and it's an all out brawl that the fans can't help but get into. If someone wants to TD that go ahead and ask me to, I'd be happy to debate it. (outside boxing or UFC of course)

But I think the best baseball fight ever would have to be the 2006 Pierzynski vs Barret (White Sox vs Cubs)

arguements later cus I want to sleep now

What? the punch that landed on Pierynski's face didn't even put him down...it was the sissiest punch i have ever seen! not to mention they didn't even get to fight...

I don't know what the best fight in MLB is...becasue it is debatable by everyone...but a real classic was Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura....

It was great Robin a somewhat rookie (2nd season and only 25 years old) got clobbered by Nolan's pitch and rushed out to the mound...ONLY to be met by a head lock from Ryan(who was 47 at the time and in his last season) and multiple upper cuts (6 to be exact) were landed to his face before anyone even got to the mound to save the little punks ass from the old man...

benches cleared and the rest was history....

wow I'm already losing 8-1. Fantastic.

Ok just a quick question: How many people actually saw the fight?

What do you mean there wasn't actually a fight? AJ took out Barrett when he was sliding home and was safe. Barrett got up and punched him in the face. Scott Podsednik grabs Barret and Brian Anderson punches Barret in the face. The benches cleared. Dusty Baker tries keeping Sox third base coach Joey Cora from getting to Barret, who is still on the ground. Then Anderson pouned on Matt Millen of the Cubs and threw a bunch of punches on him. Bobby Jenks ripped the door of the bullpen open! They had to tape the door shut.

The fight resulted in 3 suspensions and 4 fines.

Plus the fact that the Cubs-White Sox rivalry is one of the most heated in baseball. Sox fans and Cubs fans hate each other with a passion (I should know) and this fight just threw wood on the fire.

Best fight I've ever seen. It was nuts.

I'm going to lose this TD, aren't I.

You said that the Pierzynski vs Barrett fight was the best....

the only thing that happen between them was Barrett punch Pierzynski in the face....and that punch was the most pitiful thing a man could throw...i mean Pierzynski just stood there when he got hit and didn't even flinch from it! it was so weak his head barley turned and then the TWO players you mentioned never even fought...it was more of a sucker punch by Barrett and that was the end of those two...

Nolan Ryan was a 47 year old HOF pitcher who taught a lesson to a young 25 year old punk Ventura....it was great i remember watching the game and all i could think was wow this old man is gunna get rocked....WRONG was I!! he took him to school and then some...

Ryan and Ventura take the cake

I didn't say it had to be two guys. I said best baseball fight. The fight is known as the Barrett vs Pierzynski fight. That's what Chicagoans refer to it as as it's unoffical name.

Maybe you didn't see the fight, but AJ got rocked in the face! Huge cheap shot, but he flinched, steve.

Plus, the fact that the fight was between cubs and Sox was HUGE. The fight even created other fights in the crowd. The tension it created between Sox and Cubs fans still lasts to this day.

So if you combine the fact that it was an amazing bench clearing brawl with the fact that it was Sox vs Cubs and the contreversy it created afterwards, you get the best fight in MLB.

He didn't get rocked...he got hit on the chin and put his head down for a second...that was it...the punch was so weak! it something that a 5 year old would throw...

Robin-Ryan was the first one that came to mind when I saw the title, but there have been so many.

Don Zimmer-Pedro Martinez, anyone? How about Billy Martin and the Marshmallow salesman? Or George Steinbrenners claim to have gotten into a fight with opposing fans in an elevator?

Zimmer-Martinez was my personal favorite.

hockey fights are the best ever... its fun to see people get their pads ripped off and stuff, and then as an added bonus, the refs get beat up too!

Ray Knight. Gold Gloves boxer whooping Eric Davis.

The best one I've seen was the Martinez-Zimmer one. Zimmer rolled along the field like a ball, it was hilarious.

Wow...just the sight of Pedro throwing a 75 year old bald guy to the grass is epic....

Bert Capernanis...wasn't much of a brawl, but **** that was a good throw.

The Vtek/Arod face stuff will always be a fave for me. Heck, it may have even reversed those teams' fates.

-----> There are some all-time classic photos of that Nolan Ryan "fight". It was more of a wwe beatdown.
