Well, I can't tell from that AMAZING first argument, but DID YOU HAPPEN TO MISS THE PART WHERE YAO MING IS OUT FOR THE YEAR?
I don't know if you missed that or what.
Add to the fact that your team has just lost their biggest playmaker for the season the fact that the West is CRAZY GOOD this year. There are currently 2 teams that are playing above .500 basketball that would be watching the playoffs at home if they started today.
The only reason that the Rockets are in the hunt right now it is only due to the current run that they had been on.
Where they have taken down teams like, Miami, Memphis, Seattle, Sacramento, Indiana, Milwaukee, Chicago and Atlanta. During this great run the Rockets have taken down 11 teams that are sub .500 and that was WITH their star player.
The rest of the season will NOT be this easy.
And if you think that McGrady can carry a team on his own, just look at what he did for Orlando when he didn't have help.

In case you missed it, Houston just had a perfect February!
Granted, they did it mostly with Yao, but the Rockets seem fine without him.
I expect other players to step up on this Rockets team. McGrady put up 25 points in a win against the Grizzlies a few days ago, and rookie Carl Landry put up another 15.
It will be a tough road, but don't count them out yet!

I would hardly call a couple of wins over Washington and Memphis as "Fine without him"
Yao had been putting up 22 PPG and 10.8 RPG as well as 2 BPG, hardly someone that you can just "do without". McGrady has also NEVER been a consistent player, he is the definition of Hot and Cold player. The guy admittedly takes it easy on some nights.
Now you may say, "T-Mac will step up now" but when I guy has never done something before don't expect it any time soon.
I didn't miss the perfect month, but as I said 11 of those wins came against sorry teams. The really didn't play any true contenders over that stretch.
If this is any other year I could see them slipping in with a 7th or 8th seed, but with teams like Denver on the outside looking in, this team will cool off when they play some good teams and the lack of a big man will have them watching the playoffs from home.
And I would HARDLY be out GUARANTEEING this as a playoff team right now.

Well, when you said "Argument to come" you really meant ARGUMENT, only one huh?
So let's see here.
If I'm reading this and you are trying to convince me that the Rockets will be a playoff team, here is what you've got.
-Houston had a Perfect Feb
-They did that with a star C, who is now out for the year
-McGrady scored 25 points against Memphis
-some other guy scored 15
-and???. Well???. Yeah that's it.
So because McGrady and this rookie scored 15 and 25 points against one of the worst teams in the NBA, this team is now guaranteed a spot in the playoffs?
Really?
I don't know about the people that have voted for you, but I'm not exactly sold.
I'm starting to think you should have used that 3rd argument.
The team is hot right now, but that will cool off, and if you expect your 50 year old C to hold up for any prolonged stretch of games, well, don't put all of your eggs in that basket.
And McGrady holding up, well again he is no Kobe or LeBron. The guy is a known underachiever .
The truth is that Houston got hot, played some weak teams and then lost their star player. Once they face some real teams you will see they are more pretender than contender

I still think they will make the playoffs, depsite losing Yao (they still have Dikembe Mutombo [sp?]), but I'm going to wait and hear Anderskalen's argument before voting.

I won a TD like this when Yao 1st got hurt
The West is brutal and Rockets are going to have problems scoring in the low post when they play LA, Phoenix, Dallas, SA

wow, that last argument was priceless. I don't think they'll make the playoffs either, but I want them to prove me wrong because of all the teams in the West the Rockets really do deserve it. I mean T-Mac is one of the most overlooked player in the game because he hasn't even gotten passed the first round. But the main reason everyone is saying they'll make the playoffs is because of the 15 game winning streak. That's great and all, but remember the Blazer had a 13-game winning streak, look where they're at now.
