It is time to trade O'neal during this offseason.

Why would they trade him?

He's been out for half the season, but he's still averaging 15 pts a game which is 3rd on the team.

He's still a big benefit to the team. If the Pacers got rid of him they'd be worse off. Who would play center? While O'Neal was out David Harrison and Jeff Foster did, and they're both crap.

Plus he's one of the team veterans and has lots of playoff experience that most of the players on the team don't have.

So I don't see why the Pacers really should trade him unless they pick someone else up to replace him.

they need a new start they need change and new players too

Ok but why Jermaine O'Neal, one of their team's best players?

You got it all wrong. If anything Jermain would be one of the first guys I would keep.

The team's not even really that bad off. They're only two games behind the 8th spot in the Eastern Confernece.

If you do think they need a "new start" then why do you think they should trade O'Neal? Maybe they should trade off some other players, but not O'Neal.

i think if you dumped his contract it would clear up a lot of space to get new younger players

Younger players... like who?

Once again you haven't really specified on what you're talking about. And giving one line arguements probably won't convince many people, either.

And which of these young players you want to bring in will put up numbers as big as O'Neal? And which will bring the experience to the team that they need? And which will have an impact on games bigger than the impact O'Neal has on Pacers games now?

None of them will. You seriously want to trade in Jermain O'Neal, a proven team leader, for a younger player who is unspecified?

No way.

Keep O'Neal on the team for a few more seasons. The Pacers aren't even close to ready to getting rid of him yet.

I agree with hero, but Stauff makes the FAR superior argument. Vote right.
