The Brewers have a much stronger pitching rotation all around than the cubs and the hittting is better. They have a stacked lineup with Prince, JJ, Hart and a lot more. The red birds are gettin carpenter back and have wainwright. the stro's have no good pitcher after oswalt and they have only berkman and tejada. The red birds have Pujols and better lineup. i like the startegy of pitchers batting eighth.

Okay theyes they can compete, but I'm liking the cubs here. The more I think about it I'm liking the cubs.Piniella should be taking hold of the job here, and when the cubs get hot,you see what they can do.The cubs it seems just form a solid nucleus, team first approach nowadays I don't think I see in the brewers.Fielder wants more money, waa, wait one more year and you'll never have to worry about it again. They still have pitching woes they won't fix in a year.

The cubs also made another money move(yes another one)to get Fukudome(please don't make fun of the name, who i think is a solid pick up.They have a good rotation, and the only bump in the road I see with them is the bullpen, which can be added to nearing the deadline. When the cubs put it together with Soriano,Lee,and crew.it's like magic.Piniella really seems to teach the youngsters in Chicago well,so expect a lot from them.

Yes the Cardinals are getting back Carpenter, but is he really contributing that much anyway? He is consistently getting hurt(kind of like Ben Sheets by the way),sure he had a few good years but he's aging and breaking down. The Astros, after years of struggling hitting should be lethal this year with the bat*

The Brewers also have Braun. HE should hit 40 homers in his first full season. Fukudome is unproven. He could be the next ichiro or he could be the next irabu(bad import).

Soriano took a step back from the 40-40 year and has started to get injured frequently. look for him to miss some time.

The Astros are an old team. THey have a waste of $$ in Carlos Lee and Tejada is going to be fueding with the investigation on steroids. Hunter Pence is someone the Stros' will build around. They have a horrible rotation because the have Oswalt and then a rotation by comitee.

Braun is a really good prospect,I'll give you that. But sometimes minor leaguers that make it to the bigs, that all so common spurt when they start playing well in the MLB.Some of his weaknesses will be exposed and he won't be a 40 HR man,(though I can see him hitting 30 again, and 40 in the future.

Yes,Soriano got hurt, but why do you asume he will get hurt?He hasn't always had injury problems(again, ulike Ben Sheets).

Well I'd have to say 3 guys who can produce 100 RBI's a year,as well as 30 HR's a year and a high batting average(270-300 range)and a rookie like unter Pence who hits for a very high average, really makes the Astros a good hitting team.

The Astros don't have the best rotation but they are solid in that department, with a strong bullpen.

Good td Drainer.

March 9, 2008  09:25 PM ET

And the cubs have young guys who are proven unlike the brewers who have talented minor leaguers, but they havent proven themselves yet.

March 9, 2008  09:26 PM ET

*
Hunter Pence
Lance Berkman
Carlos Lee
Miguel Tejada

March 9, 2008  09:26 PM ET

Unproven??

Maybe you didnt see the WBC were Fukudome lit up homers left in right on INTERNATIONAL teams.

Theriot is batting a little under .300

*Just like Hart and Hardy*

Fielder i cant arguee that. He's a beast.

But the Cubs lineup is better

March 9, 2008  09:32 PM ET

Hart isn't very good,he really just average excpet for his height.

March 9, 2008  09:35 PM ET
