He has been overshadowed by L.T. for all these years. Whenever he has been in the game he has one of the highest yard per carry ratings.

Fantasy Beast? Um, no.
Michael Turner has only benefited, statistically, in running behind LT & in the Chargers system. The Chargers o-line is one of the tops in the game so going over to the Falcons will hurt his numbers tremendously. Do you realize when Turner gets most of his carries? During the latter part of the game or in huge blowouts. So his YPC rating, IMO, is a bit misleading. Turner enters the game when the defense has been battered and tired from the beating Tomlinson puts on them. Turner is then inputted into the game as a change of pace back and gets his 5 carries per game, HOPING to break a big run. He is yet to prove himself worthy of a full starting job IMO.
His YPC last year was 4.5 last year. Not too shabby? I'm not impressed. He ONLY rushed over a 3.5 average in 4 of those games, posting under 3 ypc in 10 other games. Again, his numbers are misleading.
Though he has signed with the Falcons he is not guaranteed a full starting job. He will be utilized as a 2nd runner in the Falcons 2 back system. Basically, he will be splitting carries with Jerious Norwood. Splitting carries + fantasy football DO NOT go hand & hand.

Since we're talking about FF & my opponent isnt arguing his case, I guess ill use this opportunity to give my projected current 1st round picks as well as a few personal gems.
Round 1:
1 - LT
2 - B. Westbrook
3 - A. Peterson
4 - S. Jackson
5 - J. Addai
6 - T. Brady
7 - R. Brown
8 - F. Gore
9 - M. Barber
10 - J. Lewis
11 - C. Portis
12 - LJ
On the bubble(may go up in ranking before season starts):
P. Manning - dropping off the usual 1st round pick due to depth at the QB position. Still a Fantasy Stud
R. Grant - Stud last year but needs to prove he can do it without Favre.
E. Graham - Came out of nowhere last year to post monster stats.
T. Henry - Pre-injury, he was tearing up the statline. I expect the same this year, especially with the chip on his shoulder. He has lots to prove to the Broncos.
Sleepers:
R. Bush - With the return of Deuce& another year of experience, Reggies numbers should increase in rushing stats but more so in the receiving end.
M. Lynch - A very impressive rookie season, I feel he is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Bills are saying he will be included more in the passing game which can only benefit his fantasy #s

Michael Turner has started before when LT has been hurt and had good games. 4.5 is a good YPC average

Oh wow, you came back to argue. Caught me by surprise, thought you were going to let this td automatcially forfeit your arugments.....
Hmmm... now that I've read your last argument, you should've stayed away. Question for you, and you can answer below in the comment section since you have no more arguments left, have you EVER played Fantasy Football? My guess would be that you have dabbled in it, but havent trully grasp how to play. What does YPC have ANYTHING to do with Fantasy Football? Do players get extra points for a high average? NO. So you basically wasted 2 arguments trying to push the high YPC average when it has NOTHING to do with FF.
Since you are hell bent on the YPC issue I will give you an example of why Michael Turner is just a product of the Chargers system. I don;t know how long you;ve been following the NFL but have you ever heard of a player name Jesse Chatman? He was the predecessor to Turner, another player who benefited from running behind LT and in the Chargers system. Highly regarded coming out of San Diego, he rushed for a YPC average of 6. Where is he now?
Michael Turner will be a good RB, but FAR from being a BEAST. Especially in FF.

Not at all. He has been a product of LT. Look at this post season, when LT couldnt go and teams were able to key on Turner, he was awful. Plus he is going to a team where they have less weapons than San Diego, making it easier to focus on Turner.

"teams were able to key on Turner, he was awful"
43 Carries for 164 Yards at 3.8 YPC is far from "awful", especially when those 3 games were against the Titans, Colts, and Patriots.

3.8 YPC is good? I think not, in season he was averaging 6.4 but when the load is on him entirely, he fell apart...

Also, the "running game" in Atlanta has always been a product of Vick.
Every year that Vick has been their leading passer:
2002 - 2368 Yards (4th)
2004 - 2672 Yards (1st)
2005 - 2546 Yards (1st)
2006 - 2939 Yards (1st)
And then. . .without Vick
2003 - 1949 Yards (14th)
2007 - 1520 Yards (26th)

3.8 is not completely "awful" but it also isnt any good.

It still doesn't change the fact that 3.8 is not AWFUL

And I'm not saying it's good, it's great, but it's not AWFUL and he was going against some pretty stout run defenses

Yes we all know that Vick was the running game in ATL bio, so whats your point? I don;t see anyone mention the alcons running game as being top notch

oh its definitely not awful

Someone could look at that and be like "Hey, they have to have great blockers for that running game to be that successful!"
Fact is, no, their line is average at best (more likely below average) and Vick was the only thing that made that offense go, as bad as a passer as he was.

Actually, 3.8 IS awful. You are not going anywhere with a back like that. Why do you think Shaun Alexander is probably gonna be outta Seatle? Because he declined. And you do you know what his avg was last year? 3.8

As per whether he'll be a "fantasy beast", it depends.
A lot of leagues just award points for yardage and TDs, right?
Considering Atlanta has like no other option I can see them running Turner into the ground and giving him near 350 carries.

If you have a 'back that avg 3.8, you need a new one. Case closed.
